I've only been dipping in & out of Corrie of recent but is the woman in the book he mentions Derdrie (sp) or not?

Have to agree that the writing in last night's corrie was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed Eileen's: "That's a bit deep for a Monday afternoon" to make the whole Ken and Deirdre story be a bit light-hearted.

I definitely agree with that, Blanche's moments of bathos were a joy to behold as ever! It's nice how they harked back to Ken's early days (on the show) as a frustrated intellectual, and a moving scene towards the end as Ken burnt his manuscripts.
Some great scenes with Becky-- her droll humour never cease to crack me up. I thought that anecdote about her fitness fanatic friend being ran over by the Snowdon train (justifying Becky's lax attitude to keeping fit), was well-observed.
