I agree, Dev was probably at his worst last night just minus the animal noises. Can't say Vuuuurrrrrnon was much better either.

Almost as bad as Dev's and Vernon's golfing friend. Played by the same actor who played Dev's father about three years ago, if I'm not mistaken?

Also former garage mechanic Nathan appeared on Doctors today sporting a strange frizzy hair style. He was playing a waiter in an exotic resort.

Michelle Michelle Michelle. Why not rename it Michelle Street. I think Ryan must have ran away - haven't seen him in a while. Due to actors school exams?

They're quick to introduce new characters, despite most of the current axed lot not gone yet.

I agree with the comments about Violet - a great character and Jenny Platt was a really good actress but the character was somewhat wasted. She was in the show for over 3 years and did very little Yet you get people like Michelle who are overused.

I think the sooner Harry, Dan and Vernon leave the show the better.

Actually Violet's character was set up for many different storylines, originally, and they wanted to see how it panned out with other characters. That's not unusual with 'recurring dramas'.

At one point Violet was going to have the 'past' of being abused by her father; then another one was being HIV+ after becoming pregnant by Jason. They were storylines that were dropped as not fitting in the with the character as she developed. When you consider the number of writers and possible character dynamics, it's almost impossible to predict which plotline will be followed by the production team in the end. It's just a field-day for the tabloids, really. Laughing

And what did they do with Violet in the end? Not a lot. I always thought Jenny Platt was a great actress with the potential to do great things with the right material, but the producers never utilised her properly. Instead they just left her behind the bar for months on end until she decided to leave, and even then they gave her the worst exit story imaginable.

Couldn't agree more - whatever the "planned" storyline was for her character they never fully developed or revealed Violet. Huge waste.

And what's with "prickly" geting **** out of my post - for goodness sake! It's not a swear-word! What if I write Scunthorpe? Rolling Eyes

Don't know about Dev's father but he did play Guppy's father in Casualty if that's what you're thinking of.

I hope I'm wrong in thinking he could be the father in the new Asian family we've been promised...

It is definitely the same actor that played Dev's father a few years (he was seen around the time Dev and Sunita got married). Why did they use the same actor that played his father to play the role of an unrelated character?? Seems very odd to me. Not being rude but I'm sure he's not the only Asian actor out there!

Laughing I'm sure he's not but he was a bit too involved in the scenes to be just a randomer, hence why I thought of that. Plus, the new Asian family is supposed to be quite rich, the sort of person you would get in a golf club (without sounding too stereotypical).

Woah... has anyone else seen that awful wallpaper in Gail's house? Looks terrible to me! It's the sort of house (...or set?) that would suit plain coloured walls rather than the textured pattern they've put up.

Nice to see Jack having some regular appearances of late btw.

I can see they've tried to form Molly and Tyrone into the new Jack and Vera tonight.

I agree, and the ending last night with Jack was very moving. The proposal storyline was some much needed light relief but also very sweet as well (although im still not liking Auntie Pam)

Better episodes of Corrie last night, it has been a bit boring recently with not a lot of interest happening and if im honest ive actually preferred Emmerdale Shocked (and I wasnt even watching Emmerdale this time last year)
