According to the papers, Jed Stone is to re-appear, once again played by Kenneth Cope. He is a resident threatened with eviction, due to Tony's flat developments

Even though I've heard of him, through reading loads of Corrie reference material(only born in 1971!), how many people will remember/know the character?

Even from the current cast, only Ken & Emily will remember him!

I know what you're saying, I think said character appeared around 1962? Nice to see Coro harking back to its history of late; what with this character, Gail's father and the Ogden painting.

I noticed Peter Noone on Loose Women discussing Coro with Sherie Hewson. Maybe he'll be the next to return?

Isn't he doing the rounds promoting the latest 'Best Of Hermans Hermits' CD ?

I bet this one is not on said CD !

Incidently, isn't there the 'Best Of Dolly Parton' out too at the moment?

Why don't they call it the obvious title, I don't know! Wink

"Her Two Big Hits"? [groan]

Yeah Peter Noone is over here (he lives in the US these days), doing the rounds promoting his greatest hits CD as you say. Keeps the "Noonatics" happy Cool

I think the whole Coro thing came up, because Sherie "Maureen Holdsworth" Hewson was on the panel that day; Peter played Stanley Fairclough, Len's son. Amazingly Mr Noone hasn't changed that much over the years.

PS: Despite Steve "nyeaah" Wright's dismissal, I Can Take Or Leave Your Loving was on the last HH Greatest Hits issued... because I've got it! [dons anorak, Laughing ]

I must admit ' Greatest Hits' came to mind, for the possible slip of the tongue by your average radio DJ!

My big sister had a cheap HH cd, which didn't have said track on, so I had to track down a vinyl copy instead & transfer that to CD, crackles & all!

Re the HH clip, I was hoping someone had posted the TOTP BBC4 repeat version, but that is the first one I found!

Talking of your average normal radio DJ(& I don't mean Mollie. What's normal about her? Laughing Only joking Mol, if you hear about this!), Les Ross mentioned something about certain disco DJ's refered to the 70's group Chic as 'Chick' & lo & behold StuB from WCR mentioned 'Chick' yesterday! Smile

According to the 'sad trekkie' who worked with him, he has done the discos!

Well now I demand young Jez give us his verdict on Rita's singing this evening [I know he's a fan].

I saw Drama Trails on ITV3 yesterday, and at the beginning of the programme, when referring to Coronation Street, the narrator made a very inaccurate statement:

"apart from the news bulletin, it's the longest running television show in the UK."

This simply isn't true. Do ITV not realise this, or are they just pretending that Coronation Street has been around longer than any other tv programme in the UK. I can think of several programmes which are older than Coronation Street, such as Blue Peter, The Sky at Night, and Scotsport.

You're quite right there: Sky at Night is slightly older than Scotsport; April 1957 the former started, the latter September 1957. Blue Peter was October 1958.

Reet was fab as always! Wink

For the first time in tonight's episode I really liked Tony - I think this character could have great potential.

Great to see Blanche back tonight (albeit with sling) with some classic quips as usual. Smile

Did, Tony Gordon tell really tell that guy to put his eyes back in his head? Shocked He's a fine one to talk!

Did anyone else hear that ridiculous sound effect when Michelle punched Steve? It sounded like the sort of sound effect used in a cartoon fight! Laughing

It was a bit silly only saved by the fact Steve is a great comedy character.

Also, Molly's Aunt selling packed ham was random. Confused

As always when you meet a relative hawking suspect goods, she now appears to have moved in with them, lets hope it's temporary.

Last night's episode of Corrie was perhaps the worst I have seen in a long time. I thought they'd have realised from last time that 'Dev + Golf = Viewer in Coma' . Jimmi Harkishin's two dimentional acting is awful; his lines should be restricted to "That'll be £9.30" or "I'll have the same again, please", although I suspect he couldn't deliver those without trying to ham-it-up.

The Michelle/Steve storyline is getting tedious now. If she's so untrusting then why hasn't she left him? As for throwing him out of his own home and business....well, that's just into the realms of incredulity, even for a soap. If somebody tried handing me a suitcase packed with my own clothes with the instruction to leave, they would rapidly find themselves sat on the pavement, post-slap!

Last night's episode could've been condensed into about 15 minutes of meaninglful dialogue. Padding it out to two episodes was pointless and boring. If they don't have the material then they shouldn't be making 5 episodes a week.
