Great to have Corrie back on a Sunday once again! So much better than 2 on a Friday.

I liked Paul's exit - although I knew he was leaving I had no idea it was last night as I dont read the spoilers in that great depth. I think Paul leaving the cash was to prove that although he can be selfish and money grabbing he isnt anywhere near as bad as Terry. It was a nice touch by the writers as everyone would have expected Paul to take what cash he could and run.

It would have been nice to have had some mention of the Clayton family though especially Paul's mother Andrea. I dont think he has mentioned her at all has he during his 10 months or so in Corrie? Of course Harry Clayton was later Ned Glover in Emmerdale and Sue Clayton is now a paramedic in Casualty!

The rest of the episode was OK but I have no interest in Dan as a character at all so any scenes with him and Leanne do nothing for me. Im glad the bookies are meant to be leaving later this year as they are IMO boring characters.

The ongoing house swap storyline was also really amusing in parts.

I don't know actually, I agree with you on Dan's character, but I thought that the Harry and Liz storyline could really develop into a good storyline.

Shame our Sunday episodes are not at a permanent fixture - just a 7.30pm showing away from old times!

Does Jerry die following his heart attack? Is this how the Morton's eventually leave the street, with the mother taking the kids' away?

Looking forward to tonight's episodes with the street crime.

Just out of interest, I watched a Corrie special of Most Haunted last night (first time I've seen it) with Sue Cleaver and Simon Gregson on the actual set and studios. They apparently contacted the spirit of Pat Phoenix (believe in that what you will) but it was great to see some of the behind the scenes especially the interiors of the outside set facade.

would love to see some pics in there but they never show it on behind the scenes programmes, what you see on most haunted isn't much cop because it's dark.

saw a pic of the inside in a tv book when the set was first built , taken from the side door of the rover sbefore they put the hallways in. it just looked like a long narrow building with lots of doors and bay windows in it with a gangway behind the first floor windows.
(surprised the pic isn't on the web)

the first floor was added in the early 90s and the hallways rebuilt in 1996, I was visiting when they were doing it and it was quite odd seeing builders comming out of the front doors Shocked

the new houses are pretty much the same with the peacocks / Mortons/ Platts houses being one building except it was built with two floors.

apparently Bradley Walsh liked to mess about inside the terrace set and would frequently go inside his house in the background and come out of another front door during takes.

once he was meant to answer his door and opened the battersby's front door instead Laughing

Very good first episode tonight, can't wait to see what happens in the second one.. was quite shocked when Norris fell actually!

Blanche was on top form again tonight: "Ken - the poor man's Melvyn Bragg"

I agree, a really good first episode and nice to see Emily, Reet and Blanche have quite a few scenes tonight.

the second episode was a bit naff as I thought it would be the climax to the attack on Norris

and how pregnant can they make clare look, they may as well show her at anti natal classes the attempts they didn't make to hide the subtle signs of impending baby

Norris was on fire, ranting and raving at anyone within a mile radius, liked his comments to Gail and then Ken & Deirdre

How old is Chesney supposed to be thesedays?

Excellent episodes tonight - it was good to see the long term characters like Ken, Rita, Emily, Norris, Blanche etc having so many scenes instead of being glorified extras like usual. I also loved the comments Norris was making in the pub towards Gail and Ken/Deirdre.

Tina's dad looks like he could be a good character and Gail certainly seemed impressed with him!

Chesney is supposed to be 13 at the moment.

Maybe I was feeling tetchy tonight, but the weathefield women were stretching my last nerve. Why Ashley and Kevin put up with thier wives is beyond me. They should run off together. (*mental note: think about that later).

And by "Weatherfield women" I included Norris. How rude was he? Don't think he'd get away with that in life. Someone would box his ears.
