Apparently some of the Sunday Papers are reporting that Liz Dawn is quitting Corrie next year. It wont be the same if she leaves.

Also this week some of the papers were reporting that Violet is the 40th barmaid at the rovers, so ive tried to list all of the barmaid but I cant rememeber all of them

Here goes;

EDIT:

I cant think of any others, ive not included Annie or Vera as they were landladies not barmaids, however Bet, Shelly and Natalie were all barmaids before becoming landladies.

Quick Question, what about Lillian Spencer? Oh and her daughter who worked behind the bar? Could she be classed as one?

I had forgotton about her , yes I suppose she could be classed as one. Another ive just remembered is Eye Sykes, she was a barmaid before she married Fred and became landlady.

As for Corrie heading for a slump, well I am partly in agreement about that, if they arent careful and dont reduce the amount of episodes to at least 4 I fear we could see storys getting weaker.

I have to agree with everyone, Corrie is getting dull at the moment - I predict tonight we'll see Karen and Tracey have ANOTHER slanging match, bitching from Frankie, Leanne, Cila....

Every scene has become some sort of confrontation - like 'Enders.

Is it down to the impact of the new producer?

I think Kirk and Fizz should take the place of Jack and Vera long term.

Well, not as bad as I predicted - but a couple of scenes should've been reshot: Steve knocking something off the table (or did he drop it?), terrible shadow over part of Kieran's face whilst talking to Tracey (dreadful acting on her part tonight).

Also, did any one spot the miss-match bricks at the builders yard? When Jason was talking to Candice, there was a "brick" corner behind them - but the corners of the bricks/mortar didn't match up - it looks like they'd badly applied some brick effect wallpaper to the set!

I was very nearly taken in by Valerie Singleton's little film in the break... Smile

I think the problem is we are getting too many of the same chracters all the time. I like Sunita, Shelly and Tracy but they are in it all the time now. We need to see some different characters. As much as I like Sunita its just been one thing after another and I find her boring now.

I quite liked the scenes with Ciaran and Tracy tonight, Kate Ford isnt the best actress in the world but I think she was good tonight.

I think you have a point there. I won't really miss Jack and Vera for example - they're hardly ever in it anyway, and the writing for them has gone off in recent years. It has got very "samey" in every respect.

The ad was a complete spoof then!

Noticed yesterday the omnibus was signed on ITV1 - I've seen it signed on ITV2 before, but not ITV1 - and certainly not on ITV1 terrestrial. Maybe it was just a trial while everyone else was watching the footy! (Apparantly a small game was played yesterday ! Sad )

Yes thats true. Considering the cast is so big (with about 50 members) there seems to be the same 10 or so on ALL the time. I watch episodes on Granada Plus from 1994 and Jack and Vera are in it all the time on those, and most of the other cast are in it quite often. However on the ITV episodes how often do we see people like Emily, Ken, Rita, Jack, Vera, Mike - and when they do appear they have small parts. Betty and Blanche are the only ones of the old school who recently have been in a lot of episodes.

Not all of the advert was completely fake, the bit when she says now here's more from 'That bloke from On The Buses' was a genuine advert, but I have to say it was a good advert.

Anyway back to BSL on the Omnibus, well there's 2 omnibus edtions at the weekend for Corrie and Emmerdale, in Corrie's case one goes out on ITV1 and the other on ITV2, I have seen it signed before on 2, but I haven't on 1, I am also right in thinking they also have BSL on the Emmerdale omnibus on 2?

A good episode tonight, consdering I missed Fridays it was actually quite good and reference to Jim McDonald, so he did. Laughing

I really thought that advert was a complete waste of time, and rather insulting to the viewers. Do these advertisers really think we're so brain dead as not to realise it was shot a few months ago?

The Sun reports today Liz Dawn want's Vera killed off. the Star says Jack and Vera will leave the street multi-millionaires, and we'll see them again in a one-off special living it up.

According to GMTV this morning, Liz Dawn has denied the rumours.

I'll miss Vera...

So, the storyline about her mugging was a hoax? Or was it cancelled because it was leaked out?
