This interview on DS with Corrie's Assistant Producer, Gavin Blyth makes for interesting reading, including a hint that Eileen will soon get a big storyline at last.

It also sounds like Ted's going to be around for a while, which I'm quite pleased about - he seems like quite a good character, and well acted too. Plus it's actually quite a refreshing change for a soap to acknowledge that not all gay people are in their 20s!

Generally, it all sounds quite positive for the next few months on Corrie. I'm quite hopeful that the show's turned a corner at last after a dodgy few months.

Sounds like the production team have finally decided that a modernised 'Hollyoaks' take of the street isnt needed and the traditional formula worked. Looks promising for the next few months.

It does sound good - Corrie has been back on form in the past few weeks IMO.

Tonights episode was good - it was nice to meet Tina's mother - what a nightmare she seems!

Can you give us any clues as to how the Mortons will develop before they go?

Yes, a very encouraging interview there. I agree, Corrie has been far more enjoyable this past few weeks. There's a better mix of stories, no over-use of 1 or 2 characters, some great one-liners and amusing infill scenes and good use of natural conversation - sort of throw-away "every day" lines.

They've got to find a role for David's cell-mate, he's like a young Peter Kaye.

I'm glad that Liam and Maria are off for a while though as that was one plot that was just abou to tip in to the "oh not this scene again" problem of the Michelle and Alex bore-athon (I'm not missing Michelle one bit...).

Me neither! I used to like Michelle but she has been so overused I went off her a long time ago!

Im also glad to have a break from Maria and Liam for a bit. I actually felt a bit sorry for Carla when Liam told her he was back with Maria. Only my sister agrees with me - everyone else ive asked thinks Carla deserves all she got!

Glad you enjoying Corrie again! I think from tommorow the new producers name will be on the credits and I know some here will be glad to see Steve Frost's name disappear! Wink
