Anyone think the house swap storyline is silly? Ooo Clur and Ashley in debt, snip up credits cards and oooh move house! Rolling Eyes

Erm no, they want to release some of the equity in their house by downsizing, seems entirely plausible to me.

And it's provided some amusement, seeing Claire now turning against the idea.

I agree, and its quite a realistic storyline id say - if you have money problems you are bound to release some of the money tied up in property you own.

Cant say I blame the lovely Claire for having doubts though after what Sally did.

Loved Sally tonight especially her "You're so working class, Kevin" comment!

Actually no i don't find it silly. We could be seeing alot of this happening in the real world in the not too distant future. I've found it rather comical. The whole process between Claire and Sal is a very typical girl thing. Especially Claires as she is the one downsizing.
So if Kev is to drink Chardonnay in the conservatory does that mean claire will be cooking chips and beans for the boys once settled in Kev and Sallys?

It's the fact homes in soaps are sold and moved into within the week which make them unrealistic - and I've never thought they quite get the pricing right in these storylines, especially with businesses.

Well the restaurant one was hilarious. I can't recall the exact figure Leanne had to pay but it was laughably low.

why downsize when you live in a virtual tardis anyway.

never quite figured how the fitted Ashley, Claire, Josh, fred, Bev and at one point Maxine's mother in there

if they can add bedrooms they can loose one so it becomes a two bed semi and reduce their council tax banding.

The Barlows must be paying a fortune on theirs as it sleeps 8

2nd September 2002 I believe. It was only supposed to be for something like 8 weeks to boost the autumn schedules.

I think they might have had occasional Monday doubles during Summer 2002, certainly the week Bet Lynch returned in June 2002 I think there was one.

Various sources today are reporting that Hayley will be back in September. I didn't realise Julie's year off was due to exhaustion.

It'll be good to have her back.

Ah right, I missed that story today. I recall she had a baby; was the exhaustion owing to that, or her Coro workload?

Fantastic episode of Coronation Street tonight. Good to see Tina back, interacting with Ted and Gail. I liked the bit when he said, "I was married to James", the reaction on Gail's face was hilarious. Eventually, the Liam/Maria/Carla storyline is coming to some sort of climax.
