From the useless ITV Soaps web-site:
Sunday’s Coronation Street will go down in TV history this weekend when an entire ad break is given over to one short film.
The film will be broadcast for the first and only time in its entirety just once, on ITV at 7.45 pm, Sunday 10th October, during the break in Coronation Street.
It sees Valerie inviting viewers to speculate on the yet to happen landmark events of 1979 and the following decades and make some startling predictions of what life would be like in years to come.
The three-minute promotional film was shot back in 1979 to commemorate the launch of McCain’s revolutionary Oven Chips, but was forgotten for the next 25 years.
“I was extremely surprised when McCain contacted me as I’d totally forgotten about making this film” said Valerie.
“Its really strange seeing this long lost footage of myself from a quarter of a century ago. Now I’m just looking forward to the film finally being on telly after all this time, and to making a little bit of TV history in the proc

So it'll be cropped to widescreen then - and although possible not in Corrie - it wouldn't be the first time the whole commercial break has been just one extended advert.

Didn't The Daily Mirror also feature thier advert in just ONE advert break a few years back? Im sure it featured the selection of their first even ONE MILLION POUND giveaway contest? (quite tacky from what I remember?)

Is it just me or has everyone had enough of Liz McDonald and her capers. Its getting as old as Fred and his marriage requests. Somebody tell ITV that they need to change the storylines because at the moment they are weak!

Yes, I agree. Corrie has been pretty poor for the past month now. I think this is the turning point for Eastenders & Corrie. EE is still poor at the minute. However with the arrival of the new producer, things are looking up for the new year. Meanwhile Corrie is slowly getting weaker This time next year Eastenders will be back on top and Corrie will be in a slump.

Quick Question, what about Lillian Spencer? Oh and her daughter who worked behind the bar? Could she be classed as one?
