Oh come on Brekkie, am I the only one who's tired of your anti-ITV mindset?

In fairness though he was only posting some news relating to Corrie and giving his opinion. I agree a musical would be awful so im glad its not going ahead.

Thanks Jez.

So ITV have now won the Wednesday Champions League games, which means that along with a handful of England games the Wednesday night Corrie will be displaced around 20 times a year.

What do we think ITV will do then - go back to putting it at 9.45pm, or perhaps resurrect the Sunday edition in these weeks, which I think would be my preferred option.

I used to like Corrie being on at 9.45pm on the occasional Wednesday.

I think now id prefer them to show it on Sundays those weeks as firstly I really do miss the Sunday episode (and wish Corrie was on Sun, Mon, Wed and Fri one episode each time) and also it would mean News At 10 wouldnt be pushed back to 10.15pm. They could just continue the after match discussions and show highlights until 10pm and then have the news at the regular time.

Just skip an episode - it'll never happen but it'd be a way to cut the number of episodes and over-stretched storylines.

I hope they never restore the Sunday episode, Sunday nights are free again! The only thing that stopped me recording Sunday's show was not having time to catch up before the Monday double-bill. I've plenty to do on a Sunday instead! Corrie is for slumping down infront of after work, it never felt right on a Sunday.

I agree. I really haven't missed the Sunday episode at all! Like you I feel like I don't have to stop what I'm doing and sit down to watch Corrie anymore. The only bad thing about it not being on on a Sunday is that we have the awful double on Friday.

or they could drop Emmerdale and replace it with Corrie. This also used to happen. In doing this we could end up with an hour long Emmerdale episode on Thursday, as well as Tuesday

That seems the best way to handle it! The viewers for Thursday's Emmerdale will already be in place. They just need to really hammer home on Monday that Wednesday's Corrie will be on at an earlier time - they've not done this very well in the past and it's more frustrating to switch on and find you've just missed it than to find it's on later...

Didn't they used to screen the Wednesday one at 7.30pm on ITV2 when it was moved later?

I think we need pad to produce one of his beautifully coloured schedule grids to summarise the suggestions in the above posts Wink

Or they could just drop the episode alltogether. Emmerdale only has 5 x half hour episodes the week after next due to the football on Tuesday, although obviously this is subject to change.

As much good as we all know it would do in the long run, they're not going to ditch 20 episodes of their highest rated programme a year.

Only other thing I could think of them doing is if they moved The Bill to Tuesdays, perhaps in non-football weeks they could show an hour of Corrie on the Wednesday to even things out - though preferbly hour-long episodes, not two half-hour shows with 30-minutes of filler leading up to the obvious cliff-hanger.

So what do people think?

One good thing is no mention of Michelle/Ryan/Steve/Alex. Or Sean Very Happy

It does sound like something terrible is going to happen to Maria though -still birth? premature baby that doesnt make it? Who knows. Not sure im keen on yet another dramatic baby storyline what with Violet/Sean's storyline just finishing and the stuff going on in Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. And whats the betting this will drive Liam into Carla's arms?

The stuff with Audrey and Gail im particularly looking forward to. Ive always liked both characters especially Gail, and they seem to be the only "classic" Corrie characters out of those left that get lots of attention these days. Its also good they have remembered that Gail is 50 this year, lets hope they get the date correct, which off the top of my head I think is the 18th.

Im also glad it looks like David is getting what's coming to him soon. Lets hope a spell in prison will make him change his ways although I very much doubt it!

As for Leanne's restaurant - yet another fire. Yawn! However its good that Jane Danson is getting a storyline as she has been underused since last Summer, just a shame Leanne hasnt made a sucess of her business
