Yes I liked the use of the Weatherfield Arms too. For a while they all went to the Clock restaurant too - what happened to that?
They was Delphine's before that too. I imagine Clock 'became' Leanne's new restaurant?
You never see the Red Rec anymore either (where was that in real life by the way?)
Anyone remember The Flying Horse or The Laughing Donkey? Both pubs featured in the show in the 70s and 80s. They havent mentioned The Flying Horse for quite some time. They often used to have friendly competitions between the 2 pubs e.g pub olympics in 1984 or the pram race in 1978!
The Laughing Donkey was run by Annie Walker's arch rival, Nellie Harvey.
Yeah I have a feeling either The Clock or Delphines's became Leanne's restaurant.
With places away from the Street itself like Fresco, The Red Rec, The Flying Horse, Weatherfield Arms etc they have more freedom to include them in the show as a when they want as they are in Weatherfield but not too close to the street itself.

The irony is it's usually only when they try to disguise the product that the viewer notices it and where it comes from. ITV2 is the worst with American Idol and those blurred Coca-cola glasses - we probably wouldn't give them a second thought if they didn't go to the effort to obscure them.
Corrie wise though the idea of Bettabuys or Freshco's is something they could do with again - a location away from the Street featuring a few regulars.
Always liked it too in that period when they used the Weatherfield Arms / the Feathers quite frequently as an alternative venue - just offers something a little bit different and shows characters have a life away from the street.
