Hate to agree with Mr "permanent bad smell under my nose" Hyland but he's spot on.

We've all been saying it for months - maybe the producers will go and have a good long look at the show now the critics are highlighting the problems. I liked the way he called Sinbad "Sinbad" too.... well he is isn't he?!

I missed the last 3 episodes, I have them recorded to watch (I think) - but if it's just more Ryan/Alex yawn-fest and bloody Sean (I've really gone of him) - then can anyone here save an hour or so of my life and fill me in on anything that I ought to have seen? Please?

Michael Starke is always Sinbad, in whatever role he plays; typecasting or his ability as an actor-- I'll leave you to decide.

I really can't see how this Alex/Ryan storyline will be resolved, I have bad feeling it will drag on like the Casey storyline did.

The David storyline looks promising, his increasing jealousy of Tina and her ex, plus her bombshell to Gail will tip him over the edge no doubt.

I like Wikki, she provides quite a good foil to Kelly and Janice. I think she has portrayed what it must be like for a Polish immigrant, quite well.

BTW: I had to laugh at your description of Ian Hyland, I know what you're saying Smile In my opinion that's just his wry facade... I can tell you he's actually a good egg if you know him, trust me Wink

I agree about the Ryaaaan/Alex storyline. It looks like it will drag on, there's no way that Ryan and Alex will become the best of friends, so its just going to continue.. I think what would have been better is for Alex and Ryan to not find out for a few month's, and not just Michelle arguing, but something which really would be gripping. Say for instance Michelle wanting to tell Alex, but his other mother sort of blackmailing her not too. Just something which spiced the storyline up a bit more.

Also, I heard on GMTV this morning:
Gail's going to end up on a Life Support machine. I guess this is going to occour after David pushes her down the stairs.

They're already pushing the whole life or death thing, but as always we know it's a non-story. It's simple - if they're leaving, they die - if not, they'll live! No cliffhanger there!

I don't know if it has been mentioned before or not but Lucy Gannon - tonights 2nd episode main writer - is this the same person that scripted Peak Practice?

sean fluffed his line at the start of the episode

"Dylan will never knew, get to know me."

some interesting angles in tonights episode from the top of the stairs and through the plat's window

I'm sure he is - it fits with the job of being a TV critic I guess! Smile

The scenes with Tina and Gail were excellent, and again with Audrey and Gail in the pub/back at the house. It was moving when Tina said that David doesnt realise how lucky he is having a mum like Gail and she wishes she was her mum.

The Michelle/Alex/Wendy stuff was deja vu again though.

Aye, it wouldn't be much fun if they praised everything to the hilt would it Very Happy

Ironically he does enjoy some of the things he pokes fun at; but as he says, if a good derogatory joke presents itself... a bit like an acerbic Harry Hill if you like. Hmm perhaps. Maybe [fetches coat]

Back on track, I'd definitely agree with Jez on the Tina/Gail scenes-- very well acted-- vulnerable side of Tina emerge convincingly. David and Daryl's serio-comic scenes in the shed were well crafted too, I thought.

Whilst Sean seems to have been dragged out his self-torture last night, Marchelle/Ryyyannn/Alex limps on, rather like Michelle's lacquered hair. Maybe Alex will be 'abducted' by Wendy, Alex will escape back to the Roverzzzz.....

Stupidest scene there. As if you'd just strip to your underwear in a bookies.

Anyone get a feeling of 'The Royle Family' when Gail and Tina were talking about their tea? Laughing

is it me or does Mathew Compton only play manipulating bullies

in brookside he was a bullying boyfriend of Jacqui Dixon's who manipulated her into breaking into the school and set it on fire

then a few years later he played the boyfriend of Debbie Gorden and bullied her son Calum in a child abuse story line

now in Corry he is a manipulating bully picking on Paul for owing him money

give him a few years and he'll be a manipulating PC in The Bill bullying confession out of inocent people he doesn't like
