Yeah, scrap the soap altogether I say.

The "lock-out" scenes went on far too long and were just padding for the double episode. It's not like that was a 10" thick reinforced steel door. Steve could've just pushed it open with one hand - especially seeing as having the pub shut was costing him money!

Talking of Steve: is he now wearing Violet's "baby-bump", or has he been on an "all-you-can-eat" Pie Diet" ? Wink

Dev was really hamming it up last night, his performance fell into the scrig category (S CR*p It's Good).

Steve seems to be carrying around a bit of beer-induced ballast these days, perhaps he's been helping himself after closing time.

I think it was Sean who had borrowed Vi's cushion though Wink Compared with when he was in Queer As Folk , he's become a right Duke of Giblets!

They are building the exterior set for some new apartments called "Victoria Court". This seems rather pointless as there are already too many characters and alot of empty properties.

I was in Manchester one day during the week and noticed they have now covered the windows in white in the science museum so you can no longer see the Corrie set.

I saw Rob James-Collier again and he was more than happy to write autographs for 2 of my female friends who told me to "Get Liam" if I saw him Wink And I got Tom Hudson (Paul Clayton) too - what a nice polite bloke he is.

I hope they see a drop off in visitor numbers now.

Yes, because that's what I meant. Rolling Eyes

I was just saying there's no way I'll remain a regular viewer.

I admit what we are currently getting isnt vintage Corrie by any means but I could never stop watching it. Even when I got really fed up of it in 1996 and again in 2005 I stuck with it and could never miss a single episode. It's the only show I will do that for as I absolutely love Coronation Street. Where as I have given up and then gone back to Neighbours, Emmerdale, Casualty, Holby over the years.

I see Ian Hyland has given the show a right slating in the NOTW - I have to say I do agree with most of what he said.

I wish I could be like you Jez. I like to think I'm a massive Corrie fan but there's only so much I can put up with really. I'm sure it'll improve eventually but right now I'm not enjoying it. Sad

From Page 132 of the Magna Farta Wink

A euphemistic epithet for somebody who has acquired flab over time. Synomyms include:
Buffet slayer, salad dodger, lard of the manor, chipwreck, Lord of the Pies, piabetic, double-fare, bloater, porker, lard*rse etc... Wink

On a separate note, I read Ian Hyland's column too. He didn't seem happy to slate what he calls "King Coro"; especially considering he writes favourably of it otherwise.

Like IH I'm an ardent fam of Coro, I have to agree it's an a bit of a lull at the moment-- the show just seems to 'ploughing the sand' these days. Especially with the ongoing Ryyyannn/Alex/Michelle snorefest. Let's hope David's latest storyline brings a bit of verve into proceedings.

When does this new producer start-- or has she already?
