Sunday 7.30pm was a nice transition from weekend back to weekday - and fitted much better into the schedule than Dancing on Ice does.

Exactly - it became a marker in my day that made me think, "Oh no it's work tomorrow...". Not missing that feeling at all!

I couldn't give a toss about the schedule and I've plenty of other things to watch or do on a Sunday than be fixed into what ITV1 is showing.

Well- oddly I don't. Whilst I can see we're under the hour specials for Monday and Friday, these hours are now turning into.... well another hour of my life I'll never see again. Frankly an hour twice a week is too much- is the tide of too much soap turning with Corrie? Or is the dull storylines?

Just think, Emmerdale on Thursday had the cot death. Now I came home from work at 655pm, tired having been at work 3 hours later than I should have been and the storyline had me hooked for the whole hour- the acting, story, build up everything. At work the next day, all who had seen it commented just how good it was.

However, the other main comment was, a special storyline does deserve an hour once in a while. Not a case of ITV moving the Sunday night to 830 on a Friday.

And before we start- "he likes" Emmerdale more than Corrie- given I watched both in the mid 70's (yes I do remember the Farm days - thanks Nan for making me watch it Smile Very Happy )- this is my own comment on the current situation.

Ive been watching Emmerdale again since Christmas and I agree Thursdays hour long episode was very well done indeed. One of the saddest episodes of soap ive ever seen. And when Laurel ran to Shadrac and hugged him and said "I cant bare this, I miss him so much" that was so moving. The lady who plays Laurel so needs to win an award at the soapies.

I watched the omnibus today and i got rather emotionally involved. I cried real tears as i did with Corries Jack and Vera storyline. Emmerdale done good with that episode. It has always been one of my fave soaps. Oddly i don't miss the soaps on a Sunday. I've got used to it now.

Its daft really them saying weekends are soap free when they show more soap on a Friday night than any other if you count Echo Beach as a soap too. As far as im concerned 5pm Friday when I leave the office its then the weekend. Smile

I never minded Corrie on a Sunday as it took my mind off work, dont have to worry tonight though as im on leave tommorow Very Happy

OK= so the Rovers has had a nice makeover.

Who on EARTH choses the wallpaper at Granada? It's a pale blue version of the Barlows- and we know how bad that is! Laughing

when I first saw it I thought they'd just stripped off the old wallpaper

so they've just redecorated the whole pub and not a skip or bin liner in sight

what did they do with all the waste, put it in the hot pots?

Ah well, you see Vernon's friends didn't really redecorate the pub - it was actually done off camera by the production scenery crew....

Oh.. I've ruined it haven't I Wink Razz

I agree though, I don't think there was even a single dust sheet layed down. Still at least Michelle is taking "the [Ryan/Alex] circus" away for a while! Very Happy

Fascinating. Tonight we saw one particular scene feature a conversation between Vernon, Dev, Gerry and Sean....and Vernon was the least annoying character in it!

They need to axe some of the deadwood and for the love of God can someone tell Michelle to chuck Alex out, and Ryan....both as bad as each other.

I thought Dev was great again Laughing

I like the way they are showing Sean as annoying, what with him actually being annoying

Oh dear, Alex is staying with Michelle for another week, suprise (suprise), this will probably continue, just a few more days, maybe for the weekend etc.

I wonder what will happen next week to cause Michelle and Steve to argue, and for Michelle to allow Alex to stay yet another week.

TBH, I don't really care. I honestly think if this Crowther woman isn't any good then we have no hope.
