I agree more scenes from Kevin and Tyrone -dont need some token hunk though - Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Laughing on reflection, they all tend to be dodgy actors - all hunk and no talent! Unless Corrie can come up with someone to prove me wrong! It needs a Jamie replacement (not that he was particularly hunky but he was kinda nice once the Wuzel hair had gone!).... Any way - I'll go make me tea!

And half of the so called hunks arent even good looking IMO? Father Kieran in Hollyoaks is the hottest guy in soap at the moment IMO Wink

Well Blanche said her "in my day" line in tonights episode. The stuff with the Bookies wasnt as bad as I thought it would be tonight. I think the Blanche scene saved it.

That scene with Vernon measuring up in the backroom whilst Steve, Michelle and the 2 sons were having tea was one of the most pointless scenes in a while.

As for Violet, I believe it was around late June/early July time, she is supposed to have a month to go as well so I guess it does almost fit in give or take a few weeks.

Agreed, especially since you would measure a room against the walls rather than across the middle. It was a presumably "comedic" moment that just didn't happen, and couldn't under any circumstances.

If they haven't got enough good material for this number of episodes then don't make them!

I agree, well said Stuart.

Considering on paper the stuff at the Bookies was quite a dull storyline I quite liked that, maybe because Dan got caught out by his dad - serves him right!

Of course Audrey has to say "act-u-lleh, eh" every week and Blanche has to say "in my day" every month. And Dev has to say "okaaay" every sentence Laughing

Don't forget Norris "Oh w-well thats just typical isn't it!" and Betty's classic "ohhff" groans. Laughing

Aaah yes. Noris also says: "I wonder if x knows about that, should I tell him/her". Of course there's Amber's "innit man"; perhaps to replace Sally's fixation with baked beans (or caviar since she's 'hay clarse' these days)

Betty is hardly in it these days sadly, we just get "ohhff" or "hotpot luvvy" and that's it.

As for Vernon, and his "awkward" scene last night... it ought to have been a case of one of them saying: "No you make us feel awkward Vernon". At which point Vernon snaps and beats Michelle, Ryyyannn and Alex to death with a curtain rail-- Steve looks on sighing.

I think Vernon is one of those people who might just turn around and do that one day.... and at the moment if he'd done that last night I'm sure Steve would've colluded with Vernon in saying, "The curtain pole just fell down onto their heads - hard like...." Laughing

Going back a couple of episodes, I've just remembered the extra who played the cleaner that Sean hired for Violet - he went through practically every facial expression possible in a well OTT am-dram way Laughing I think he must've been trying to make the point that a few extra quid and he could've at least had one line that would've made the scene a little more natural and realistic...

I don't mind the bookies, but the problem is they've got no connection with anyone on the Street and only really feature in scenes in the bookies themselves and the occasional filler elsewhere.

Really they need to get them dating someone pretty quick to bring them more into the show.

Evil or Very Mad

On another note, I thought the Vernon scene was quite funny (granted not brilliant but alright).

Are Jamie and Violet actually leaving does anyone know? I really hope not - they're two of the small number of characters I like at the moment.

... though I probably should hold my hands up and say I've hardly been watching regularly since they arrived. I barely bother catching full episodes now - it's just half an episode here and there.

Looks like Corrie's getting some new 'luxury' flats being built by the butchers:
