with reference to the layout of the terrace my gripe is why they have no cupboard under the stairs and the back wall of each back room is parallel with the stair case so there is an Inexplicable gap behind each flight of stairs

In some houses (Barlow and Webster) the cupboard under the stairs is accessed through the kitchen. They are ocassionally seen. In the Battersby-Brown residence the cupboard door is seen in the front room. The was a scene where Les was hiding something in there once.

I don't think you're right there - in the Barlows & Websters there's a run of kitchen units immediately in from the door to the back room - there's no door to a cupboard under the stairs.

This detail has always annoyed me too.

Changing the subject, does anyone else suspect that there's more to be revealed over Vera's death? Paul Clayton headed off to work, leaving Jack, Molly and Tyrone in the pub when Vera was alone in the house. His reaction to seeing her after she died was: 'She doesn't look frightened'. Hmm...

Only if he's capable of inducing heart attacks. I think that would be a leap of faith too far in terms of plot credibility.

Agreed, if he was invovled it would of been discoverd at the time.

I've never seen a cupboard in a terrace house going from the kitchen, the length of the back room to under the stairs at the front of the house.

I think you are confusing the houses on Eastenders which have the stairs set back and a longer hallway going past the back room into the kitchens so the cupboard would be accessed fom the kitchen

The first house I bought had such a thing. It's very common in terraced houses, certainly in the north of England.

sorry, I stand corrected, never heard of that before,

I think the gap in corry is due to studio space in the original studio

Just adding my opinion about the Ryan/Alex/Michelle thing, I think its the stupidest storyline ever. Its just went so quickly and seems like it will never settle down. I've just not been so sure about it all, and I still thing corrie has went down the pan in the last few weeks. Also, it seems like the Rovers is the latest Tardis on the street. It must only have about two bedrooms? Max. three. But we've got:

Liz and Vernon 1
Michelle and Steve 2
Amy Third bedroom? but then there's Ryan, and I doubt he would share with Amy.

..and now Alex.

That is just the magic of soap! Look at Dingle Den when the whole clan stay.

They could always borrow the Barlow Tardis. How they fitted Tracey, Amy, Ken, Deirdre, Peter, Adam and Blanche into one small house is beyond me!

Sorry, not been on here for a few days, but one thought regarding Becky possibly becoming a barmaid at the Rovers. Could she not work both there and at the cafe? Sean manages to do another job as well.

I suppose it depends on what time the cafe closes and what time the evening shift at the Rovers starts.

It's not unusual. Connor is also quite a frequent name too (let's not say "common").

"Best not," said Connor.

And Michelle replies "Ryaaaaanuuuuuuuh". I think it's written into her contract, that once an episode she has to say that now Wink
