I think it's down to bad casting with the Morons, like the Musgroves in Brookside who's children had a range of different accents from Irish to Scouse and they were meant to be of the same lineage Rolling Eyes

What's happened to the Grandad and Kayley anyway?

Hopefuly Grandad is in a secure retirement home which doesn't allow day release. Kayley did the sensible thing and jumped ship early to run off and live with Mrs Sinbad - probably because she didn't have anywhere to sleep.

Tom Hudson has confirmed that he is leaving Coronation Street in an explosive storyline.

The actor's character Paul Clayton - Jack Duckworth's grandson - will flee Weatherfield after setting fire to Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) restaurant.

The chef has been trying to stop the ailing Valandros eatery going under but finally agrees to torch it for the insurance after Leanne promises to sleep with him.

However, a warrant is issued for his arrest when the plan goes wrong.

The 21-year-old told The Sun: “I’ve loved it on Corrie but I’ve got other things planned.”

But he indicated that he may return to the cobbles in the future, saying: "Paul’s just like his dad Terry and he’ll definitely return to Weatherfield to cause more trouble for his grandad.”

Talking about his exit, he added: “It’s a great storyline - exactly the kind of exit I hoped for.”

Good point. And Finaly, the young lad? Or is he going to return next week as a teenager who looks nothing like Finlay used to?

This Morning confirming that Lauren leaves next week.

A bit surprised Paul is going so quickly- I'd have thought there was a lot more they could do with that character.

He was another character that really hasn't worked. Even though he certainly wouldn't have been at the top of my axe list I am kind of pleased he's leaving, if only because it's one less cast member in an inflated cast.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm upset he's leaving, but I actually thought Paul had quite a bit of potential had his character been developed a bit more.

Are we supposed to believe Vernon was responsible for that - it looks quite tasteful.

Shame though they didn't have the balls to really revamp the place - giving it a trendy interior and pissing off Norris and co. would have been quite a good storyline.
