Coronation Street

Its far too early to know what ITV will do at Xmas with regards to Corrie. Even the provisional schedules they release to the papers in late November are often changed by the time the official tv guides are released. I hope the tv guides all put Suranne on the cover this Xmas as she is leaving.

A 1 hour episode is better and its sort of become a tradition to have a hour long ep on Xmas Day over the last 10 years. You often get a lighter episode on Xmas Day anyway, a double episode with a half hour break is more likely to go out on Monday 27th December id have thought.

That scene was pure genuis, especially when she was asked if she wanted the steak taking back to the kitchen and she replied, "It doesn't need to go to the kitchen, it needs to go to the vet! Kept thinking it were going to eat me salad!"

Tonight's episodes were very good indeed, loved the scenes with Norris, Rita and Rula!

Rula: Are you hungry Norris?
Norris: Oh yes... I...I'll just pop downstairs...
Rula: Why bother when I can feed you right here... ?

Brilliant!

Oh how fab was tonights episodes. Some of the scenes with Norris/Rula/Reet were hilarious and nice to see Rita having a storyline for a change!

Some classic Corrie scenes tonight, especially when Rula's husband crept into bed with Rita, how fab was that !!

With most of the focus on the younger member of the cast at the party, it's fab that Norris and Rita got in on some action of their own.

And a singsong! lol

Did anyone else notice that all the sets were rarely used sets tonight :-

All those people in the tiny flat for the Brithday parties!,
Jason and girl in bedroom,
Fred Elliot and son looking up at ceiling!!!! (must be a first for a soap),
Todd and gay character in pub,
Rita and Norris away in that mansion.

The only usual sets was Eileen's living room and Sally and Kev's front room!

And how long has Rita had a car ?? I don't recall her driving before. Where does she keep it round the back of the Kabin ? Nobody ever seems to park on the Street itself.

And when Todd and the Plait kid left the party - which door did they leave via? It looked more like a door to the garage rather than a pokey flat that could hold 30-40 people for a 'party'

That's the FIRST TIME we have seen Jason's bedroom if my memory is right. Also the first time we have seen Fred/Ashley/Claire's upstairs landing!!!! and roof!!!! What an added bonus!!!

I think she has always had a car – certainly for the last 10 years anyway but we have rarely seen her drive it. She has a garage, which is between the Kabin shop and Kevin’s garage, but curiously for a short time this year on the set the garage was replaced by a window, but it’s a garage again now. We never see her flat now either, which is above the Kabin. I don’t recall seeing it for about 3 years. It was stupid that we didnt see her flat during that storyline with Chesney/Cilla earlier this year, all the scenes were in the shop or the back room of the shop. I suspect they dont even have the set of her flat anymore.

In a shock this week Whats on TV have gone for a Corrie cover with Karen and baby Amy. Im surpised they havent got KF on the cover also, grinning like she usually does



Yes a nice singalong there - its the first time Reet has sung on the show since the Millennium episode.

Yes we did see some sets we dont often see or havent seen before like the upstairs of Fred's house, and the bedroom at number 11. We rarely see the upstairs of any of the houses really. We saw upstairs at Number 11 when Elsie/Susie/Gail were living there in the 70s, and when the McDonalds were there in the 90s I think but as these sets are seen so infrequently I doubt they keep them for long.

Isn't Rita's former flat over the Kabin, now Karen and Steve's flat these days?
