Why does Corrie have to always link sex to pregnancy - can't they just leave it be as a rights of passage - and let the character(s) just develop as normal (well, normal pyscho) teenagers!

I guess soaps have a responsibility not to be seen to be promoting promiscuity amongst young people. Although yes, it does all seem a bit predictable. I think as an alternative, David coming down with a dose of the clap would have been a potentially more interesting, and even entertaining consequence - especially if he had to see the doctor at the Health Centre with Gail Force Ten looking on disapprovingly.

I suppose this could be quite good for the development of David's character if it concentrates on him having to face the same decision his mother did many years before. I hope they don't waste the opportunity with lacklustre writing or rushed plot development.

Yeah brilliant performance.

Ta-ra Vee.

Also loved the small chat in the Kabin with Rita and Emily talking about Elsie Tanner, Ida, Ivy and Vera's factory days.

We had a typical line from Blanche too:

"It's a Co-Op funeral. I recognise the hearse"

As for Tina storyline,
characters in Coro don't know how to use contraception properly Wink

I agree, a far better storyline would be the cover STI's rather than another pregnancy. We already have 2 characters pregnant in the show at the moment so we dont need any more.

Also I dont think Corrie have had a character getting an STI - Hollyoaks have though I think.

STI would be the better route in this case - love the idea of David avoiding his mother at the medical surgery...

... but still I see no reason why it couldn't be left at just sex.

After all soaps don't feel under pressure to show the consequences of all the drinking most the characters do at least twice a day!

good point, or should that be pint. how many times did a character in last night's episode say 'one for the road' or words to that effect. and anybody who is not drinking is seen as some sort of mental head case.

with the amount they knock back in corry I'm surprised Weatherfield hasn't got it's own branch of Alcoholics anonymous at the medical centre

Maybe the cornershop should be branded as costcutter, co-op or something similar, as this would represent a typical local food store. Or maybe they could call it Freshco's Local.
