back to Vera's demise will we be seeing Terry at the funeral, he could have a family reunion with his three sons, Paul Clayton, Tommy Duckworth and Bradley Armstrong

I'm sure it was rumoured that "Our Terry" would be making an appearance at Vee's funeral.

It's probably wise that Corrie is now filmed in widescreen given the actor's increasing girth at every previous guest appearance Laughing

LOL.

Yes, Terry will be there - there's been pics about of him at the graveside.

I hear the actor who plays Terry is journalist now. That could explain his ever expanding waistband.

And he had such a great body in the Mid 1980s Wink

I've not been on here since Friday, so sorry this post comes a bit late...

But Friday's episodes really demonstrate Corrie at its very best. I'm so pleased they chose a peaceful death for Vera.

The scenes in which Jack discovered she'd died were some of the most tender and emotional I've ever seen in Corrie - something which wouldn't have been the case had she met her end bouncing off the bonnet of a speeding car or blown up in a gas explosion. It's also a situation to which a lot of viewers will relate.

I was reminded very much of the classic scene in which Hilda broke down in tears looking at Stan's glasses case.

I completely agree with ohwhatanight's comments that it's this kind of pure, human emotion which stand out so much more than big-budget, dramatic explosions, murders and disasters.

Excellent work and beautifully done. Well done Corrie. These episodes will surely win awards.

... and after all that, Corrie are now on the look out for Jack's next love interest according to Digital Spy.

Do we really think Jack should have a next love interest?

They couldn't have done the Vera and Jack scenes any better. Superb acting - Jack's reaction was bang on.

Shame it was spoiled by the other, pointless storylines.

I mean why? Irrelevant scenes with a knicker party? What the hell was that all about?

I suppose it was done as a comedy counter-balance-- I don't think it worked in this respect. I think it might have worked better concentrating just on the Duckworths.

I think her exit was very touching, and it was refreshing to the dramatic deaths you get. A lot of people do just slip away like that in real life.

I thought Bill Tarmey did a sterling job-- poignant acting there. An abridged version of the epi is now on Youtube by the way.

Out of interest, did anyone catch what Vera's final words in the programme were? I was just wondering if it was anything significant like a classic "T'ra Chuck".

Typical.

Also, this Ryyyyaaaann storyline is doing my head in now. Like we're supposed to care about Alex and his father and mother and so on.
