I can't say I'm looking forward to tonight's show at all really - I think it's going to be a bit of an anti-climax and Vera isn't going to get the exit the character deserves.
and what would that be in your opinion?

Vera finally flipping and going on a shooting spree, starting at the Mortons house and making sure she visits the corner shop and Vernon in the pub on her travels, before taking her own life! Idea

Could say the same thing to you about your endless complaining about Corrie. If you dont like it dont watch it. Its that simple. So dont keep having a go at me.

I don't keep having a go at you. The only time I do is when you twist what I say.

I like Corrie - I love Corrie. I just don't like the current state of the show. As Pad says, I continue to watch it because I'm a loyal fan and loyal fans don't desert it.

I wasnt intentionally twisting what you were saying. I was just adding my opinion that some characters dont have to have big explosive exits and I think the lead up to Vera's exit has been ok. I never said that you were saying all characters have to have explosive exits. That was just a point I was adding myself.

I cant help it if I still like and enjoy watching the show.

As for Ryan and Michelle, well this is the main storyline in the show at the moment. Vera isnt a major character and her exit was never going to be a major storyline either. End of an era, yes, due to the time the character has been in the programme.

She's had less scenes because of Liz's poor health but that doesn't mean her exit should be any less significant, and nor does that justify them having other storylines dominate her last episode.

I thought she was going to die when she had moved to Blackpool Sad

Now who is twisting my words Wink

The fact is the character isnt a major part of the programme anymore. Who says her exit wont be significant anyway. Ive got Elsie Tanner's last episode and there were other storylines in the episode but her exit was still significant. Poor Ena didnt get a proper exit (like so many others, Percy, Phyllis etc) so at least Liz is able to record a final episode and she just doesnt just disappear and is hardly mentioned again.

You say her exit shouldn't be major because she isn't a major character anymore. We all know why that is but why shouldn't her exit be major? She's played a major role for the past three decades.

And when I say major exit, I don't mean anything explosive. Just...I don't know. We'll see how they do it tonight but I can't help feeling it won't be enough.

I've been trying not to get into this storyline, but seeing it on itn tonight i began to get a bit choked.
Bet the ratings will be thru the roof tonight.
* sniffs*

I'm gonna need double the amount of tissues tonight. I'm even getting emotional about Ryan. Loving the obvious pointers to the misery to come. As in Paul and Tyrone and the pic. Little heart stabber tonight.

That was a beautiful exit IMO....very understated, but true to life. It was Jack's little breakdown at the end that got me Crying or Very sad

That ending couldn't be more fitting for Vera. No fancy explosions or clever twists in the storyline.
Found it very moving.
