Only stupid people. The Monday double bill has been a fixed part of the schedule for years now. Even people like me who only watch once in a blue moon are aware.

Oh for goodness sake, just because I occasionally forget the 2nd episode does not make me stupid.

Ok, I'll be a bit more specific, if the viewer changes channel at 8pm - heaven forbid! - 'sometimes' the 2nd episode gets forgotten about. This was discussed on here a few years back when the Monday double started with the fact many people may not remember to turn over for the 8.30 episode. Especially now with the Fridays.

Personally, I just think one episode of Corrie a night is enough and I've thought this ever since the Monday double began.

Mixed feelings about the Coronation Street move really.

I'm glad that it's down to 3 nights a week and restricted to weekdays. I figure that if I'm watching the 7.30pm edition I'm quite likely to be around for the 8.30pm too. It's in a previously dead slot for ITV, either Airline goes there or the start of a two hour drama repeat, so will certainly do well in it's timeslot.

I just hope that it doesn't see an increase in those contrived in between Monday episodes cliffhangers. I'd prefer them to carry on making the episodes as self contained, as though it's the next day, even if that means making reference to the weekend.

Otherwise, we'll never see the weekend in Weatherfield ever again.

How long had Corrie been on a Sunday

Since November 1996. Quite a major change really dropping it as its been a fixture there for over a decade.

I agree, although its still 5 episodes by showing it over 3 nights it may seem less. Thats why I wouldnt like it to move to a Mon-Fri format and be on every weeknight. Its nice to have the episodes more spread out.

Well before 1996 we rarely used to see a weekend in Weatherfield at all and it never did us any harm. Very very occasionally though the Monday episode would be set on a Sunday I seem to recall, in the days when Corrie was on just twice a week and ITV had far more variety in their 7-8pm slots all round.

most of the country missed the last episode of reach for the moon in 1999 and it was on staight after the previous episode with an announcement that the last episode followed after the break and no end credits Confused

but that doesn't make people stupid so give not32uk a break

I agree. Viewers might start watching something on another channel so then forget about corrie because they're into the programme. Any harm in that?

I'd sooner give up cigarettes.

It's not reasonable to expect everyone to like each other. It doesn't happen in life so I'm not sure why you think it should happen here.

There is such thing as respect though, a few members on here are so damn rude, and a lot of the time it comes out of that person not agreeing with a reponse. I'm sure in the real world, if half of you spoke the way you did, you would be in hospital now, wether you get on or not with someone.

The ITV announcer is getting ahead of herself with the new ITV Schedule. She just said that the next episode is on Monday. However it will be Sunday.

Maybe they're trying to get their heads round the new schedule as much as we are...

according to our friends at digital spy corry is on on sunday.

now I'm confused, if we have no episode on Sunday the it should have been shown tonight not on Monday, that will knock all the episodes out of sync. So my guess is that Sunday's episode is on and we start with a Friday double on Jan 11th (the 2nd episode being what would have been shown on Sunday 13th)

anyway tonight's episode really did end with a cliff hanger Laughing
