Actually the character of Deirdre has always smoked AFAIK, ive seen episodes from the 1970s and 80s where she is seen smoking. She didnt smoke as much as the likes of Elsie Tanner and Stan Ogden but she definately smoked.

I've noticed something a bit odd about Corrie. In this age where smoking is increasingly frowned upon Corrie's Deirdre has been seen smoking several times recently, strange since her character has never somoked in the 30 odd years she's been in the programme.
I wonder what the explanation is for this strange editorial decision?

I've given it a few days before I posted, but I have to say I really can't stand Sean. Corrie is setting gay people back 20 years or more with his OTT campness, it's just makes me cringe.
I thought that with the Todd storyline it might make my own parents think a bit differently, but the way it turned out, and now Sean, it's all back to square one. I spent years trying to understand how I could be gay as I didn't want to be a Larry Grayson, Mr Humphries etc, now we get Sean to confuse another generation. I just wish there was to be a positive role model in the programme, not some screamer on about lipstick and face packs and "being born with a needle and thread" - complete and utter bollo**s.
Another gripe: can we start a campaign to remove all the ridiculous "cockney" phrases (half of which I doubt exist) to make the Baldwin clan slightly bearable? And whose idea was it to bring back Leanne - she really wasn't missed from the programme in the first place.
I am whingy tonight, sorry folks!

I dont mind Sean - some of his scenes were amusing in tonights episodes.
I agree about Leanne, never liked her much. And I agree about the Baldwin family and especially that Jamie, does anyone really care that him and Leanne argued?
