Last time it was on ITV1 Saturdays, it didn't get the viewers ISTR, plus didn't the cast moan about payments on ITV1repeat transmissions?

I agree Jez, they have always shown the eastenders omnibus on BBC1 and not the cable chanels.

why should people who don't have cable miss out, it's like all the behind the scenes stuff they show on ITV2, really annoys me Mad

Well, I know Freesat won't be within everyone's budget because of the high initial cost, but it's worth considering if there is no Freeview signal at present in your area. Either that or wait until DSO and hope that the signal strength for Freeview improves.

He's just making the point that not everyone has ITV2 so its worth putting the omnibus on ITV1.

To be fair though 80%+ now do have digital, and therefore presumably ITV2. And of course they can always catch it the first time around.

It wouldn't surprise me though if ITV1 didn't put signed versions on overnight now ITV Play is going - just to fill up some of their signing quota.

Omnibus's and repeats are ideal fodder for the spin-off channels - but then again it's not as if ITV1 are really showing anything else.

They did screen the omnibus on ITV1 for a short period a few years back - think they had a Crossroads omnibus at the time too.

They repeated Sunday and Monday's episodes the next day at 1 o'clock and Wednesday and Friday's episodes would be shown together on a Sunday afternoon. Emmerdale was repeated Wed to Friday at 1 o'clock back before it was on 20 times a week.

On Granada Corrie usually had a Sunday teatime omnibus, and then in about 1993 they made a big fuss of having a 12.55pm repeat. But when the Sunday episode appeared they merged the repeats, so you had Sunday and Monday's episode at 1.30pm on a Friday and then Wednesday and Friday's episodes on a Sunday teatime, and then it moved about until it disappeared. Shame really as the Afternoon repeats were alright.

Remember when some Regions used to repeat Emmerdale at 11.40pm? That didn't go down to well, as they used to be early Afternoon aswell.

He was referring to "behind the scenes stuff" which is really only fit for ITV2.

My point was that ITV2 is FTA on all digital platforms so why complain about "limited availability" when it plainly isn't true.

That is the soap elves who come out every Christmas to festively decorate soapland whilst we are all tucked up in our warm cozy beds fast asleep, which plays merry hell with the continuity Very Happy

pity they didn't use a bit of forward planning and put up Christmas decs in the house Michelle and Liam visited.

judging by the free falling brown crispy leave in the park opposite they filmed that ages ago
