how about an episode set in reality Very Happy

on second thoughts, that's too far fetched even for a soap Laughing

this story with Ryan is a bit odd. surely there are legal ways to investigate whether your child was swapped at birth without stalking 15 year old boys you believe are your son

and of course both teens are just happily going to sod the last 15 years living with people they though were their parents and go an live new and different lives with two sets of complete strangers Rolling Eyes

see I said reality is too far fetched for a soap.

I think a really good behind the scenes programme would be good for their 50th anniversary, like a year in Corry or something. They've done it with the Queen and Kew Gardens

probably a live edition of corrie how exciting can hardly wait....

Nah they did that for the 40th.

Doesn't mean they won't do it again. Confused

I think it's quite likely.

Never said they wont, but surely something bigger and better should be done for the 50th than what they did for the 40th.

How about an episode set in space?

Well exactly. Laughing

It doesn't get much bigger than a live episode, does it? I'd expect ITV to perhaps have Corrie themed programming in the schedule to celebrate its anniversary but I fully expect a live episode to be the centrepiece of the celebrations.

My point is they have already done a live episode so people would slag them off and say they were copying the 40th if that happened.

I disagree. If it carried the exact same storyline as the 40th live episode, then it could be considered as "copying" that anniversary. I too would like to see another live episode for the 50th anniversary, along with some kind of anniversary special. What about a book as well? Or would all this seem similar to the 40th anniversary (?)

Oh.. (before I forget), happy 47th birthday, Corrie...

No because they did a book for the 30th, 35th, 40th etc so I expect another book for the 50th.

Well you'll have to assassinate Bill Roache, he has said he wants to stay in Coro for the rest of his life Laughing

I think it's fantastic that Bill is still in the cast.

It might mean nothing to a bunch of teenagers and 20 somethings, but there are millions of folk who have watched it from the start and appreciate the thread of continuity he provides.

I agree - I think it's nice that Bill is still there.

Speaking of continuity, did anyone notice during last night's episode that one minute Sarah and Jason were talking about it being Sunday, and the next Michelle was informing Liam that Ryan had tried to bunk off school "yesterday"? Corrie never used to be so sloppy but silly things like that seem to be occurring more and more these days.

yes the continuity is a bit off. They are probably rushing things so they can have their Christmas fortnight off.

When will soaps learn that foreign accents are never a good thing?

Me too - I think its always good to have at least 1 member of the original cast still there, and Bill has been the only original cast member left in Corrie since 1984.

People also forget that Eileen Derbyshire has been there just as long - she first appeared in episode 15 in January 1961.

Nice to see Audrey's son Stephen back, and played by the same actor as when he appeared all those years ago.
