Yep, 47 years ago today viewers in the North got to see the first episode of a new 13 week long drama!

I wonder what plans they have for the big 50th in 3 years time?

He's talking about the 50th.

I do like live editions though. I remember on The Bill Live it was raining and they didn't have time to dry off for interior scenes.

Well exactly. Laughing

It doesn't get much bigger than a live episode, does it? I'd expect ITV to perhaps have Corrie themed programming in the schedule to celebrate its anniversary but I fully expect a live episode to be the centrepiece of the celebrations.
