It's the same on ITV1. Only now we're being given ambiguous messages and being told to make our way to the website. I have to say I do find ITV's exploitation of Coronation Street saddening. Especially when during pivotal scenes you have an IPP shamelessly popping up and telling us to the text STREET for the latest show gossip. Rolling Eyes

The whole ITV ECP is a joke. Half the time the credits are just played with a v/o telling us what's on, the space for the up-coming programmes is wasted.

As for the slugs - they are just annoying, irritating and don't even mention programmes now - they are advertising for a commercial text service.

No doubt there with be red buttons, slugs, v/os and ECPs all over Vera's death scene. How dramatic will that be!

ITV are ruining the only programmes I watch on their channels with these stupid gimmicks. When will they learn that alot of people are watching hours later, the "now & next" is pointless!
What was about to show at 8pm is pointless to me at 10:15 - I recorded it to avoid your adverts, sponsorships and trailers in the first place!

Thanks ITV2 for ruining the end of tonight's Coronation Street by announcing what was on next, before the titles had even rolled!

5/5 for originality! You can't get away from the bloody promotions now!

Oh, and if you were wondering, it's Katy Brand's Big Ass Show.

Oh the wonder of automation...

....and complete with miniscule credits but no promotion in the other 85% of the screen.

With the prevelance of PVRs I expect adverts to be running in the bottom third before long - at which point I will simply adjust the scanning of my TV to block them out.

why don't quicktime links work on my computer Sad

Were Sean and Violet in school together, in which case why has Sean never mentioned Lauren. It's also likley that as ken taught Violet he also taught Laren as well.

It's a shame Corrie have decided to introduce Violet's "never previously mentioned" Sister into the programme. It's so EastEnder-ish to do that.

Not to mention initial audience reaction indicates Lucy Evans is to Corrie what Hannah Tointon is to Hollyoaks. The "get rid" campaign is in full swing on other forums...

How old are Sean and Violet supposed to be? I'd put Sean a good five years older than Violet really, though you can't really tell underneath all that fake tan.

Sean is 31. He celebrated his birthday recently. Violet is supposed to be in the 24-28 age group I guess. Maybe they worked together or lived near each other before they arrived in Coronation Street? Just because they know each other doesnt necessarily mean they went to school together.

As for the ECP and pop up messages during Corrie - yes I find them REALLY annoying Rolling Eyes

I'm not too bothered by her so far - the focus needs to be on slaying more (ie all of the) Mortons!

But her performance on Monday was way over the top - like some failed panto actress. Someone ought to tell her this isn't Microsoap - it's grown up soap.

I don't think she's that bad - I certainly wouldn't put her in the same league as Hannah Tointon - she's probably more at her sisters level!
