Tim the vet wasn't a "screamer" if memory serves, nor was Sean's ex who was the owner of Shandy (although said dog's funeral was camp as Butlins).
I had a long chat with Roy Barraclough in Nottingham once (2004), after a chance meeting. A thoroughly nice bloke, very approachable. He said he would never return to the Street, "the long hours are too much at my age". Shame really-- I could see Alec running the Corner Shop!
I agree the Tardis-like quality is daft to these houses, highlighted when all the Barlows lived there last year. Maybe they have secret underground rooms we don't know about-- where they keep their cars too
