I do hope not. The man can't act - and the last "storyline" he was given involved those stupid episodes on the golf course, which were just padding for double episodes. I had to fast-forward through the scenes because they irritated me so much.

The only storyline I would like for him is to have him deciding to move to one of his many other shops and never be heard of again (taking that awful Amber with him too). I'm sure he could be replaced by a "relative" who had some personality and didn't have to SHOUT ALL HIS LINES the same way.

Hmm... yes quite convenient that Jason should lean against the scaffolding, just after David/Damien had loosened the bolts on it Laughing

Charlie, Bill and Jason have had many scenes where they were leaning on the scaffolding. I didn't find it particularly unbelieveable.

And it was stressed several times during the episodes that this was very last minute - I also dont think there is anything wrong with the state of current Corrie, IMO anyway.

We know mate. Wink

Lots of people were praising Corrie last week though, saying they were the best episodes for ages etc. I thought the impression was Corrie is back on form? And we have the wedding to look forward to next week.

Oh come on - one swallow does not make a summer. I thought last week's Monday episodes were fantastic but it's sort of dipped again. I'd hardly say 'back on form' - it'd need to be consistently great for me to say that. Anyway, the wedding should be good.

Its all down to personal opinion anyway and I think Corrie has been good for most of the past year.

Yes, the Claire and Ashley thing was annoying. Following the re-write of the story, it just didn't seem to flow logically at all. Anyway, where are we with that situation, are they still separated ?

We got a glimpse of Ken the other day, who hadn't been seen for weeks, no sign of Deirdrie for a while and is Betty still in the show ? She just seems to be referred to as making hot pots out the back.

And the big question remains, will Dev ever get a storyline ?

The Claire and Ashley storylines wasnt the best storyline this year, however they did really well considering they had to rewrite it at such short notice IMO. As far as I know they are still seperated and he is living with Audrey.

Ken was absent for more than a few weeks - before this week he was last seen at the end of June. And apart from 1 episode in August, Deirdre also hasnt appeared since June. I guess this is because they had big storylines earlier this year with Tracy and then Denise coming back they needed a break. Considering she is 87 Betty probabaly doesnt want to do many episodes, she was last seen a few weeks ago I think.

Dev is a bit pointless now - why is he still in the show?

Indeed. If I'm honest, I think they should have kept Shobna and got rid of Jimmi.

Absolutely - they got rid of a character most people cared about, played by a good actress, and had lots of potential. She could've got the shop from Dev a a divorse settlement and she'd have been juggling with the baby and running the shop.

Just goes to show how differently we all see things. For my money, Dev is someone I'm always pleased to see in a scene. I think his acting is good, and he delivers his lines with flourish and charm. The one I really wish they'd get shot of is Kirk. To call him wooden would be to insult our fine trees. His one useful function is to make Tyrone look reasonable.

On the up side, the lady who plays Becky is superb to watch. The more they give her to do, the better she proves to be.

The trouble is, in real life, the only people who deliver their sentences with 'flourish' are hammy actors.

so there's no evidence that David sabotaged the scaffolding then.

have they forgotten the CCTV camera Charlie installed to film Maria's flat which also covered the yard entrance and the whole corner of Victoria Street

Sounds like you were shouting the same thing at the TV as me last night. Wink

I agree about Dev, Baroness. He is the master of the unexpected. I may be a hammy old actor myself but I find his scenes very watchable.

Becky, too, is just brilliant. She works so well with Roy.

Completely agree there. The best new addition to Corrie in ages.
