Is it me or is this whole building site script poorly scripted?

What HAS happened to John?

When he was first introduced a few months ago, he was depicted as a rather geeky (not that there's anything wrong with that I might add!) bespectacled, quiet introverted type. Now, all of a sudden, he has a trendier haircut, no glasses and seems to have changed his whole personality?!

It's to 'sex him up' as it were. I think somebody decided that if John was going to be this object of lust, then it wouldn't be convincing if he was a geek (for want of a better word!).

Then again Fred Elliot had three wives and several engagements, so what do I know? Laughing

Hmm - thought that was probably what they were doing, but it just seems a bit contrived. Oh hang on....it's not real life is it?! Laughing

Must admit I preferred his speccy "geeky" look!

No it's not just you - there were a few clunky lines tonight I thought, and some characters using overly-long words where they normally wouldn't use them. Something jarred anyway!

Thank god someone noticed as well, you beat me to it. Wink

What I mean is, is almost as if Jason was deliberately attracted to leaning on the scaffold bar.

I though it was completely different person but now you say, I've just realised it's still him. I'm sure Fizz was going out with someone who looked real old, geeky and teacher-like.
But now you say his persona has completely changed... for no particular reason.

I don't know why everyone's getting a bit flustered... when it comes down to it, he's only had a haircut and has ditched the specs!

His personality seems to have changed as well; he appears more "fun and sexy" and I don't think the old John would have even thought of having a relationship with a 16 year old girl...

I think this storyline is just stupid and they're obviously running out of ideas.

Hayley's exit last night was a bit sudden, and felt like it had been crowbarred in. I don't remember ever hearing Roy and Hayley before talking about wanting to do charity work in Africa.

I also had a feeling the storyline with Christian was building towards a more satisfying conclusion than just his disappearing.

Is Julie taking an extended break? Or is it going to turn out that Christian is the person who snapped up the penultimate ticket to Africa, with some scenes set in France?

Hayley's take a year-long break from the show. I agree the ending to the story was unsatisfying and I felt more could have been done with it but there you go - that's Corrie for you, or at least current Corrie anyway.

They did mention Africa once when they returned from their break and Becky was told she could be the 'boss' but I agree, it was still very sudden.

The whole episode was a bit odd. I wondered if it was written by a new writer or something.

I thought it was 6 months she was taking off - wasnt it mentioned in the script she would be away for 6 months? I could be wrong.

And it was stressed several times during the episodes that this was very last minute - I also dont think there is anything wrong with the state of current Corrie, IMO anyway.
