compaired to Jack P Shepherd Confused

they have to be kidding, it's mean to be acting ability not how cute and cuddly they look, how crap they can sing and whether they've got their own show or not.

I'd vote for the Walton twins, benjamin Berisford and the baby who plays freddie, they've had more dramatic roles recently than he's ever had.

Jack deserved the award more than Antony, that's saying something. But we should be grateful anyone from Corrie won it at an awards ceremony which is known for its Albert Square bias...

Details of Harvey's sponsorship of Corrie :

This Sunday sees the launch of Harveys’ two-year sponsorship deal with Britain’s longest-running soap Coronation Street, and the furniture retailer has taken the opportunity to completely review its marketing activities and make some exciting changes. From 30 September the public will see a fully integrated marketing campaign running through all media, from advertising and point of sale to Harveys’ website.

Harveys’ sponsorship creative, developed by Proximity London, sees familiar inanimate objects from the home coming to life to watch Coronation Street on TV. The objects, including an Action Man, a Buddha, a mannequin, a rag doll, a dancing flower and (in homage to Coronation Street) flying ducks, are brought to life using a combination of puppetry and CGI. Three executions have been produced, set in the living-room, kitchen/dining-room and bedroom, to showcase Harveys’ furniture offering for the whole home.

Can't say that I've seen many mannequins in a home, unless Justin and Colin have been in to decorate.

All award ceremonies are a joke. They are a complete waste of time and shouldn't be shown on TV. If they really want to slap each other on the back and say how amazing they are then they should do it in a private therapy session like anyone else with low esteem issues.

In private therapy sessions you can't get publicity for your programmes, cream in money from phone-lines, get some easy sponsorship/advertising, nor fill up a couple of hours of a schedule will a cheaply-made programme Wink

Just of out of interest, were these awards vote for by the public?

Yes, all categories were voted for by the readers of Inside Soap. I guess we can't call it Inside EastEnders anymore. Laughing

True enough. EE must be getting bad then Wink I'm glad that The Bill won an award again, I think it's been on top form of late.

Preview of the new Harveys sponsorship ad (MPG)

The hollow sound when the Buddha moves / sits down is really going to irritate me. I also don't believe the average Corrie viewer has a living room as luxurious as that one (mine certainly isn't). Plus there's no music. But it's better than any of those horrible Cadbury's ads.

What would be the point of a furniture shop showcasing a shabby looking living room ? Surely, that's the point of the advertisement.

Yes, okay. I just thought it looked odd, especially as none of the characters on Corrie itself have decor anywhere near that good Confused
