bet heath and safety will have a few things to say, they've already bollocked Granada for the previous roof top scene with David Jason

was the absence of Ashley anything to do with him going AWOL a few weeks back?

I haven't seen the soaps for a while and sat down to watch Corrie and Eastenders last night.

Coronation Street is by far a superior watch. Its production values and writing are excellent - as yesterday's episodes proved.

Eastenders on the other hand is literally unbelievable. I'm presuming the "fat girl who eats lots" story line is an attempt at humour. The acting was awful and the scripting was abysmal. I'm certainly glad I get more for my licence fee than this dire offering.

Tonights episodes were great! Awesome camera work at the end, and its amazing to see how Davids suddenly a nutter! Great views of the street, amuzing to see the viaduct just stopping though!

Suddenly a nutter?!! He's been like that for a long while IMO... I think the rooftop scene was just a vocalisation of what he's been thinking all this years!! It's a shame Sinbad (sorry Jerry) didn't deck him as threatened.

I agree about the camera work, gave a good sense of height and drama. Nice view of the Industry & Technology Museum (sic?) as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed last nights episodes. I watched the end of the second one a couple of times because Jack P Shepherd plays his character so well.

The rooftop scenes were seriously spooky and very believable in view of what has happened to him over the last few years. After mimicking shooting his mother, the rather manic look on his face when suddenly announcing that he didn't want to be "late for his tea" was enough to send a shiver down the spine of any sane viewer!

Excellent!

Corrie was on top form last night.

Even liking Cilla's scenes with the old codger in the home, there were some great one liners. I wonder at what point Les will ever get mentioned again ? I know people don't like Cilla's character, but I'll be sorry to see her leave.

Anyone notice the newspaper the old guy in the old folks home was reading, "The Daily Pulse" Laughing

For those who hate the character David, or just love his evilness...

David gets beaten up in September, well if you can call it that, but then puts the blame onto one of the family (either Gail, Sarah or Jason, though hes not family yet)

Amazing spoiler:

David Platt fakes his own death

'Coronation Street' horror David Platt fakes his own suicide in a bid to ruin his sister's wedding.

The evil teenager, played by Jack P. Shepherd, will convince everyone he has taken his own life as sister Sarah prepares to tie the knot with lover Jason Grimshaw.

David is already banned from the nuptials after he was responsible for Sarah's daughter Beth accidentally taking an ecstasy tablet and begs his family to let him attend.

However, when they say no, the furious teen plots the ultimate revenge by pretending to be dead.

He writes a suicide note which he leaves in mum Gail's house, leaves a 'final'ranting message on her answer machine and then drives his car into the canal.

During the ceremony, police arrive to tell Gail about the car and she storms out trying to find him.

Jason also tries to go and help with the search but Sarah - who knows about David's scheme - won't let him go until they have signed the marriage register.

Later that evening a wet and bedraggled David arrives back at the Platt household telling a guilt-ridden Gail that he felt he had no choice but to try and take his own life.

That HAS to happen.

Haha that would be excellent if that happens, be interesting to see if they could pull it off.

I didn't read the spoiler, but I have loaded the last 10 mins of last night's 2nd episode onto YouTube because I think it was so good!

I think Corrie's going to get better with the help of Psycho David. Very Happy

I think that his character has went too far him to stay for another, say 5-10 years.
He can only get worse, and if he's going to fake his own death, what else will they write for him to shock us?
Surley in 5 years time we won't have a 20-odd David planning to kill his family!
