Not so sure about that. I think it's quite common for people to refer to others' full names, particularly when they don't like them. Using just the first name conveys a certain amount of friendliness.
By the way, having just returned from two weeks on holiday has made me realise how un-interesting Corrie is at the moment. Usually I'm desperate to catch up with what's been going on, but I really couldn't care less right now. I'm really hoping it picks up soon.

one thing I don't get with soaps, why do people get referred to by their full names. for example Janice saying Fizz
'You know what Carla Connor thinks of Leanne'
, rather than just saying 'Carla' .
You don't get people in normal conversation referring to people by their full name.

I agree you often get people, using peoples full names in conversations, especially if they do not like them.

I loved Stan and Hilda. The last i heard she was knocking around with them Last of the summer wine likely lads.
It would be nice if Emily and Rita had a weekend off to visit her then gossip about her in the Rovers with Deirdre, Ken, Blanche, Gail, Betty and Audrey.
Jack and Vera were a good replacement and the only adorable old bat to step in Vs shoes is Blanche. She ought to get it on with Grandad Morton.

The last sentence has given me images almost as bad as John Major & Egwina
Jean Alexander has had a few bit parts in in the likes of Heartbeat and Where The Heart Is in recent years, as well as hanging loose with the Holmfirth massive.
Very prophetic of us-- I noticed the mention of "Mrs Ogden" too! Nobody has actually said Hilda Ogden is dead, and if she had died I would think her funeral would have been mentioned? So I think we could assume she's still with us

She was mentioned not so long ago in a scene with Sally and Kevin. When I say not so long ago in mean in the last few years. Kevin and Sally would have said if she had died.
I think it was when they uncovered the "murial" on the wall when they decorated
I'm sure the last time she was mentioned it was more recent than that! In fact, wasn't late last year or early this year? I'm sure Kevin mentioned her recently.
I've just been watching the 1970s box set. There's something I'm confused about; the first episode on the 1972 DVD is Ernie and Emily's wedding. After she had walked down the aisle it cuts straight to "Part Two", which confused me, I've seen various scenes of Emily saying "I will" in specials/documentaries etc. Is it a problem with my DVD, or does it cut straight to Part Two on anyone else's? Just wondering...
I just checked my copy and its the same - cuts straight to part 2 without an End of Part One caption. I never noticed that before. Very odd.
