Well I knew it was inevitable. Bill and Liz should leave together - in my opinion its only right unless they decide to kill off Vera.

From a storyline point of view it would be best if Vera does die on screen, although in a bed with Jack at her side rather than something sensational would be most fitting

Vera moving away via the back of Lloyd's cab and never being seen again or Liz Dawn passing away herself and therefore Vera having to be written out off screen wouldn't be very good

You mean like a Madge Bishop kind of death in Neighbours. I think that would go well, and Jack can either stay or decide to go off somewhere.

It would have to be, I can't imagine any other plausible story by where she would leave without Jack.

Have just seen this news and despite me expecting it I'm still quite shocked. Sooner than I thought - I am going to miss her so much. Such a wonderful actress and Vera has been a pleasure to watch. I hope that they give her a fitting exit - please, don't mess this one up like you did with Mike and to a lesser extent, Fred. I agree that her dying on screen would be the best route to go down - I just hope it's written well - she deserves that.

She will be sorely missed.

I presume Christmas Day could be in the picture, or would that be too EastEnders?

Although considering the ad revenue, sometime before Christmas would be better

Jack and Vera only makes guest appearances now as it is

Before this mini-storyline with Paul they hadn't been seen for ages

Maybe Vera's health will be so bad that Jack, Paul, Tyrone and Molly can no longer look after her so they will have no choice but for her to go into a care home?

I have to say im not sure whether id want her to be killed off. Id like a happy ending for Jack and Vera, but if Bill Tarmey is staying I guess that is out of the question.

There is a danger though with "guest appearances" that later down the line, her health get's so bad that these no longer become an option. Then they'll have to kill her off "off screen", she deserves better than that.

Yeah I know what you mean. So many in the past had to be written out off screen due to ill health preventing them recording a final exit storyline. It would be a shame if that happened to Vera.

Teletext article says she "may" return for guest appearances so I guess they havent decided for sure yet.
