Me neither. "Boreen" not Doreen us Barbara Knox fans are calling her!
Ive noticed that she has had more scenes than Reet as well, and in some cases I have a feeling she has actually had some of Reet's scenes - like at Blanche's wake and when Emily and Boreen went to visit the Duckworths, and even that scene in the salon I thought it should have been Reet not her.
Jesus wept Jez. Forgive me here for thinking you are DELUDED. Are you actually saying that the weather should dictate the quality of a soap that around 8 MILLION people watch 5 times every week? The quality should, and would under better management, be better maintained, it's really not rocket science to make the characters do believable things with their lives. Admittedly this summer is better than 2005/2006 but 2003 was a great summer with Shelly/Peter/Lucy amongst other things. They didn't give up because of a couple of people having barbecues then.
Paul's death - oh yeah, that was riveting TV. A practically silent car crash and brushed over in about 3 episodes.
Besides, it was only for one episode. The fire - admittedly a great, well shot episode. But the next 30 episodes relating to it consisted of (badly) reshot scenes.
This is all just my opinion of course, just as your (valued) opinion is that Coronation Street is always wonderfully plotted, character driven, funny, dramatic, emotional and unmissable.
Why are you once again being so rude in your comments towards me? Putting words in block letters is considered shouting on internet forums.
If you read my post you would see that I said the reason it goes quiet during the summer is because they keep the bigger storylines for the autumn/winter period when ratings are generally higher. Also in the run up to Christmas with advertising revenue etc it makes sense to have bigger storylines with million more tuning in. I never said that because its summer storylines shouldnt be of high quality. And I never said the weather had any bearing on storylines whatsoever, on ratings it can have an effect yes but not on quality - I just commented that this summers weather has been rubbish making light of the fact that people probabaly are staying in to watch tv more and ratings might not have suffered. I dont know as I dont really check the ratings for every episode. I also think storylines are of good quality at the moment. Im enjoying the episodes, do you expect me to say im hating the episodes and slate the show just because you dont like me disagreeing?
Paul's death, as we know, was written because Sean Gallagher quit so they had to do an exit storyline for him. Had he not quit im certain Paul would have had huge storylines for the rest of the year. And the death was well written and acted. The family were written out for a few weeks which is why the storyline seemed to be over quickly.
Yes opinion, you are quite right.

The idea is the best storylines are kept for autumn and winter not when people are out enjoying the summer - or at least they would be if it the weather wasnt so ****.
