I'm sure Sir Frost knows what he's doing.

Good question. I suppose it's a mixture of viewer appreciation of characters, and how much the actors get on with the bosses.

Probably the latter because Vernon is generally disliked by viewers who bother to post on messageboard's, surely the only way that Steve would be able to find out whether they were loved or not.

Having said that, and I know I'm backtracking here, but I don't mind Vernon. I actually think he did a good job with the outcome of the Liz/Derek affair. I felt genuine empathy for the character and Ian Reddington is a good actor - but the material he's been give has been awful. I also love Katherine Kelly, and the they've really done a good job with Becky - putting her together with Roy and Hayley was a masterstroke. I just hope they have big plans for both that enable both actors to show their true potential, and not be brushed aside like Jenny Platt was.

I didn't like the character Vernon at the start, but now with the affair, the actor seems to have pulled it of quite well. I just hope now he's got a year long contract they wont mould him into the new Les without mouth character.

Surely Sir Steve, since it is Sir + first name when addressing knights Wink </pedant>

I agree about Becky I think she has more potential, I like they have re-invented the character and placing her with Roy & Hayley has calmed her down too.

Vernon I'm not sure about, depends what they give him. I agree that Ian Reddington is a good actor, but I haven't really been impressed with what they've done with him so far... although the Derek storyline has given him something to get his teeth into .

I liked Joanne too, but what can they do with her regarding storylines? She could get together with Liam again, but it seems that he will be getting together with Caaaarla Confused I can't see what they could do with her.

If you want to be a pedant, at least spell it right.

Pedant is sort of the shorter version of it but it's not quite as simple as that:

Pedant is the noun and adjective (as in 'you are a pedant) and pedantic is the adjective to describe the activity of being a pedant (i.e. 'you are pedantic). So to remember the difference between the two; it would be: 'I am a pedant because I am pedantic', in the same way as 'I am incredulous because I find something incredible'.

I am quite a pedant myself but I hope this helps to explain how it works, it can be a bit complicated.

Laughing Yes ma'am, I have corrected it (speaking of spelling shouldn't your username be spelt with captial "P"? Wink ) . Looking at the funny side of my error, it was quite ironic of me Cool If I could be bothered, I could have passed it off a deliberate joke, post-modern or something equally pretentious Wink

It ought to have originally read pedant of course. It's just not good enough of me is it? Very Happy

Ms Hellfire accuracy is everything daaarling Wink Not as amusing as when news reporters misuse the word "enormity" to describe momentously good events!! Laughing Or when people say something is "a result" when there is a positive outcome. You get a result whatever happens, positive or negative Mad

Oh yeah Coro was amusing tonight, who would have thought Becky would be so concerned about her carbon footprint. I think Alison "Carla" King has hard-nosed down to an art-form. Why are Sean and Carla palsy-walsy all of a sudden Confused
