Personally, I think they should start with mid-1961 or somewhere near the beginning, as it give an idea of how things develop.
It would be nice to see Corrie from the start as ive seen next to nothing from the 60s, but I also wouldnt mind seeing it from 1976 again.

Talking of Classic Corrie, with the news that ITV3 is launching soon and is going to be showing Corrie, what era of Corrie would people like them to show?...

The whole thing about Fish Fingers get me a bit bothered last night. For a start, If Sally's kids "Love fish fingers so much" why the hell is she buying cheep and nasty corner shop brand ones!!! In her weekly shop she should buy loads of boxes at freshco's if her kids love them that much!
Also how can Dev put 2 boxes of fish fingers in a really large strong carrier bag, the type which shops charge 10p for, when for a start she is only going next door! Surely she does not need a bag! And when I go in corner shops I get really cheep thin, plastic cr*p bags. Dev's must be making lots of money if he can give away good bags to customers only walking 2 meters from the shop to home!
Also by feeding her kids fatty fish fingers every night, she not exactly giving them a balanced diet! And the goverment wonder why we are all fat! Because Coronation Street's kids eat Fish fingers every night!!!

I'm sure I heard somewhere that not all the old episodes were kept. Apparently tape was very expensive in those days, so they tended to wipe it and reuse it as a cost-saving exercise.

Coronation Street has an almost complete archive of eps - some 60s ones are on film though. Most other shows from that period are not in as good a shape archive wise though.

Every episode of Corrie still exists, believe it or not. Daran Little told me in an e-mail, you can buy any episode you want for £15 by writing to David Nugent (and sending a cheque) at Granada, also giving the original transmission date - obviously.

I stand corrected.

I spoke to the Duty Officer at Granada only last week and he didn't say you could buy every episode, I was asking about old classics.

I mean individual episodes, every episode DOES exist, albeit the original sixties episodes have the "from the North Granada" frontcap replaced by the 1968 G-arrow logo, edited on all episodes pre-1969 in 1970. You can buy any episode, I asked about old episodes and where you could get them individually - the Ena Sharples V Elsie Tanner episodes in 1965, they exist (transmitted 27 January 1965, BTW)

The Haddock fishfingers in my freezer contain 2.8g of fat each, which isn't actually that bad (although I'm no dietician) - however I would imagine that Sally fries them in lard rather than grill or oven cook them! I take your point though; I thought it was amusing that the scriptwriters picked up on the oft-mentioned Webster’s poor diet in the way that they did!
There's something else concerning me about Dev's shop - has anyone noticed the rather strange groupings of products on the shelves? Tonight the large jars of pickled onions were between what looked like the coffee and Ovaltine! I know some corner shops are a little disorganised, but this has been bugging me for ages!
