He comes across as a really nice guy actually, and he sounds exactly the same as Liam in real life. Fern said lots of women want to know if he is single - a lot of us men want to know as well Fern! She also called him James Collier when introducing him at the very start.

So he is going to have another fling with Maria on screen then by the sounds of it- for heavens sake Maria is such a slapper, had half the men in Weatherfield that one.

They don't seem to know what to do with Maria. I bet during the storyline conference they ask each other what they should do with Maria and they just decide to pair up with yet another man. Is there nothing more to the character?

Well what could she do, maybe get pregnant. Maybe its time Audery retired from the salon and gave it to Maria to look after. We could see her try to cope etc.

She already got pregnant once by Toyah's boyfriend.

Ive a horrible feeling she will end up cheating with Fiz's new boyfriend later down the line - hope im wrong - it seems all they can think of her to do is have an affair or fling with someone all the time.

Well IIRC Fern asked him if he had a girlfriend, to which he said "yes" to... didn't he ? I think in the past he said his girlfriend fancied some bloke on EE.
