I agree - we really don't want or need another murderous story like this - it's getting stupid. Have they learnt nothing from the demise of Brookside?

Are we ever going to have a proper end to the Ashley & Claire house fire plot?

So Eileen's fella is probabaly married - I knew something would go wrong.

Sean Hughes is a great actor. Plays himself beautifully Wink

He is married. Steve finds out and tactfully tells Eileen-- but she already knows Surprised Bit of a carbon copy of the Liz storyline though? That comes to a head next week, when Liz confesses to Derek's wife Linda

Like Craig Charles... (I can never remember his character's name.) Oh and Sinbad's Sinbad really isn't he!

Lloyd Mullaney (I think that's his surname).

Yep Lloyd Mullaney - you are quite correct. Always makes me think of Barb as her surname used to be Mullaney when she joined the show - its not often actors change their stage names when they get married but Barb did when she married John Knox in 1977.

According to today's Sun...

"Corrie's David Platt plans to wipe out his family in a horrific shooting spree and then kill himself.

Soap bosses will turn David, played by Jack P Shepherd into a chilling psychopath who finally snaps when he is humiliated over his sexuality."

According to the article the story will build up over a long period, and they've not revealed how it ends. There's the possibility this could be the way Sarah leaves the show.

If this is true, I'm sure they'll do a good job of it, but I can't help feeling Corrie is slowly going down the Brookside route of too many OTT, dramatic storylines.

Oh dear. This storyline sounds dreadful. More deaths - we have had enough this year already.

They are away at the moment so I guess the storyline will continue when they return. I heard that

Ashley sleeps with Casey

I hope the above spoiler isnt true - it would total ruin the character IMO.

considering I'm still waiting for Clare to drive a train off the viaduct (2002 exclusive) and the whole street to be demolished (1988 exclusive) I take Sun exclusives with an EEC salt mountain

There is often a hint of truth in some of these spoilers though. In 1989 half the street was demolished (the factory and community centre side) and Claire did knock over Schmichael but with a bus not a train.

Wouldnt surprise me if David held them hostage or something, but I doubt Gail will be killed off.

I doubt it would be that extreme, but i'm sure David will play a big part in Sarah leaving. I cant see David killing anyone, maybe he frightens Sarah so much she has to leave to protect Bethany.

With who at the helm?

EDIT: Oh yes, tonight's episode. It was average. Sean/Violet continues to bore, I liked the exchange over the radio with Steve and Eileen though. The Jamie/Jack stuff seemed a bit filler-y but it wasn't bad.

Haven't you learnt yet to ignore tabloid stories?

They either get denied the next day by ITV bosses or they turn out to be a throw away one episode plot. I.e "David to come out as gay"

Steve Frost.

Both Charlie and Paul's deaths were excellent episodes. I cant fault Steve Frost as producer, so if you think im going to slag him off, think again.

But just because those death storylines were excellent doesnt mean I think we need death after death. Id like it to be a while before someone else dies on Corrie.

Just been catching up with tonights Corrie - really enjoyed the episode. All the stuff wIth Jack and Vera was good, and I liked Carla showing the girls who's boss at the factory.

Yes, a lot of this stuff tends to be exaggerated - although I'm not sure you can exaggerate a spoiler like that. I wouldn't be surprised if something like that did happen though - he seems to like death, does Steve.

I agree with Jez that Charlie's death was very well done (the double episode), but I felt Paul's was rather anti-climatic and quite pointless tbh. There were many ways for him to leave which could have been more interesting than yet another death.
