I've just found the Violet / Sean scenes quite funny - typical Corrie way of handling it really. They've known each other years, I can think of a female friend of mine where, if puch came to shove, I could see myself in that situation - not blo*dy likely though!!!

If i found myself in this position with a gay boyfriend i'd personally choose the turkey baster option.

It works well (I'm told!!). You just have to remember to use a different one for your Christmas Dinner though.....

So Eileen's fella is probabaly married - I knew something would go wrong.

Sean Hughes is a great actor. Plays himself beautifully Wink

He is married. Steve finds out and tactfully tells Eileen-- but she already knows Surprised Bit of a carbon copy of the Liz storyline though? That comes to a head next week, when Liz confesses to Derek's wife Linda

Like Craig Charles... (I can never remember his character's name.) Oh and Sinbad's Sinbad really isn't he!

It was contrived and not in the least bit funny. Tonight's episode was funny.

Opinion.

Im not being funny but maybe you should stick to watching Eastenders then if you arent happy with Corrie. You are a fan of that arent you as were you the opening poster in the old EE thread?

"Ah go f*** yourself" - not my words, but the words that David must be thinking right now in his head Razz

Could have said the same to him and pad when they were having a go at me but I didnt.

No, I'm sorry Jez. I take umbrage at what you've said. I have a lot of respect for you so I'm surprised that you think a difference of opinion is 'me having a go at you'. I can't speak for pad but I've thought our debates were nothing more than that. No hard feelings on my part. Yes, I may occasionally mention your name when commenting on the show (actually, I've only done it once) but it's all in good humour. I'd rather you privately messaged me if you didn't like it. Your 'opinion' comment was unnecessary - I think most people realised that it was my opinion. And as for your EastEnders remark - yes I do watch it, but I'd hardly call myself a fan. I'm more of a fan of Corrie than I'll ever be of EastEnders. When EastEnders is awful I don't give a damn - when Corrie is awful I feel quite passionate about it because I know how good it can be. Surely that tells you something?

Well I posted a comment saying Steve Frost had produced the episode so it couldnt possibly be bad with a Wink after it in response to your comment that Jonathan Harvey could never write a bad episode - it was meant in good humour hence the Wink smiley. However you replied saying you must have been watching a different show to me these past few months. Im sorry but I didnt like that comment. its as if you dont like me saying that Corrie (IMO) is good at the moment and my opinion counts for nothing. Why wont people let me have my own opinion, ive never once made others feel like they are in the wrong for having an opinion. I was surprised as well because we have always got on ok and I respect you too, I wasnt surprised at pad because we have never got on.

I admit that my 'different show' comment was rather blunt so I apologise. Hopefully we can forget about it now.

Is he only in it for a short stint [hopes!]? I notice his character still doesn't have a surname on the credits.

Amen to that. All this bickering was exceptionally tedious.

Lloyd Mullaney (I think that's his surname).

Yeah Laughing ... Michael Starke playing Sinbad playing Jerry Morton, 2007 version of Ken Hopkirk in The Royal with theme-tune sung by Michael Starke.

Makes sense when you go full-circle.

According to today's Sun...

"Corrie's David Platt plans to wipe out his family in a horrific shooting spree and then kill himself.

Soap bosses will turn David, played by Jack P Shepherd into a chilling psychopath who finally snaps when he is humiliated over his sexuality."

According to the article the story will build up over a long period, and they've not revealed how it ends. There's the possibility this could be the way Sarah leaves the show.

If this is true, I'm sure they'll do a good job of it, but I can't help feeling Corrie is slowly going down the Brookside route of too many OTT, dramatic storylines.

I can imagine David/Damien doing something like that Shocked

I think you are right thought, sensationalist storylines like that start to lose their effect if there are too many of them. Once or twice year fine, but it's OTT to have them every few months I feel.

I worry that Coro will lose the remanants of its down-to-earth touch, if they continue on this path.

Oh, hope a few others get caught in the crossfire too. Gail of course will presumably survive.

Yep, if he killed off another few then I'd be quite happy. Not sure what to make of this story tbh. Sounds like another sensational plot that we've grown used under Steve Frost.

Do we really have to spoiler everything that is common knowledge if you read the right papers and mags. It makes the site look messy with all these blank bits of text.

Horrible storyline, hope it doesn't come to that. As if Gail hasn't suffered enough trauma to last her a lifetime, to wipe out her son and her daughter as well is taking it to the absolute extreme.

And it all sounds engineered to line up the departure of Sarah, why does it mean that David has to go with her ?
