That's what I thought. Surely customers would have gone outside the front door to smoke.

That what they do here in Wales - we have 2 pubs around the corner from where I work and every lunchtime there is always people outside smoking. Personally I think smoking should be banned on the steps of pubs as well as it looks so untidy IMO.

So are hideously fat people but no one asks for a ban because of their aesthetic.

You shoud realise the ban was applied for health reasons. How it looks has nothing to do with anyone else.

Im well aware of the reasons behind the ban. Personally im glad, it never bothered me due to health reasons, it was more the smell in on my clothes and in my hair.

However the ban has made people now have to go outside to have a fag and im just saying it annoys me seeing people stood outside smoking.

It was contrived and not in the least bit funny. Tonight's episode was funny.

Opinion.

Im not being funny but maybe you should stick to watching Eastenders then if you arent happy with Corrie. You are a fan of that arent you as were you the opening poster in the old EE thread?

"Ah go f*** yourself" - not my words, but the words that David must be thinking right now in his head Razz

Could have said the same to him and pad when they were having a go at me but I didnt.

I guess so, oh well i think we've all moved on. It can get quite heated sometimes in here, which shocked me because when i started posting here it was a unity, now its falling apart - the forumers that is

Yes and it seems certain people on here gave me a lot of stick just because they didnt agree with my opinion.

Well ive been in that same boat before. People by all means can question my opinion, but to personally attack someone because of there opinion is a bit sad.

I've just found the Violet / Sean scenes quite funny - typical Corrie way of handling it really. They've known each other years, I can think of a female friend of mine where, if puch came to shove, I could see myself in that situation - not blo*dy likely though!!!

Oh you utter saddo. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, this Violet/Sean storyline is dreadful - what a way to waste talent like Jenny Platt. The last few episodes have been pretty average bar a few redeeming features (liked Becky in tonight's first episode). The second episode so far has been okay.

But in my opinion, okay is not good enough. It's okay for Jez though, so that's all fine.

ENOUGH WITH THE BITCHING, IT'S TURNING INTO a EastEnders thread!

might it be the fact that Sean slagged off sunny for being bisexual and said there was no such thing Confused

because unless he's using the patented brookside turkey baster he's going to have to sleep with Violet

So Sean slept with a woman in the past, and as you point out he said to Sunny that bisexuality doesn't exist... although he did facetiously reason it was "greed" Laughing

Some good comedy tonight I think. Eileen on top form, a nice contrast to her baby scenes earlier this year. I think they've managed to make Cilla quite amusing tonight, with her scenes with Fiz and John. I don't think I'll miss her when she goes all the same though.

LOL! The stuff with Violet and Sean was amusing to watch tonight. If I was in that situation with a female friend it would HAVE to be a Turkey Baster job Laughing

Very good episodes tonight. YAY Carla is in charge at the factory - she sorted that lot out and put Sally in her place. I like Sally but she was a bitch to poor Hayles tonight so deserved that.

I also like Cilla tonight and the way she invited herself to dinner at the Cafe. Some of the comments were LOL moments.

So Eileen's fella is probabaly married - I knew something would go wrong.

Its good that Corrie covered the smoking ban in tonights episode but they went a bit OTT didnt they? Would all those people really go out for a fag in the backyard of the Rovers? In Wales the ban has been in force since April and everyone just goes outside the front of the pubs.

And the announcer at the end "the ban came into force in the UK today" - its came into force in Wales three months ago love. As usual Wales get forgotten about Rolling Eyes

[/rant]

Scotland and NI already have the ban in place, and have done for a few months!
:

I know they have - I live in Wales dont forget Wink What annoyed me was they didnt bother to do another announcement for ITV Wales viewers saying "the smoking ban has been in force for 3 months here in Wales, if you would like further information about the issues raised in tonight show etc etc"

I did mention Wales if read my previous post? My point was the ban came into force in just England on Sunday, rather than the whole UK

Wink I don't see why they ought to have an announcement for something that happened three months ago for Wales... but then again a general announcement would have been helpful perhaps: "If you need help quitting...."

I don't think smoking on the steps of pubs is a problem, as long as proper bins are provided. After all you're in the "open air" on steps, outside as it were, I feel it's smoking in enclosed spaces that's the problem. Personally I think banning people from lighting up outside is a step to far.

Although I do appreciate what you're saying Jez, it isn't nice having barge through an army smokers to get into a pub-- but least they are outside Wink

That's my tuppence worth anway Laughing

I'm finding the Sean and Violet storyline slightly disturbing for some reason and I don't know why.

What if it were Violet and Jamie - would you be disturbed then?

I think situations like Sean/Violet are more common than we may think-- or do I read too many trashy magazines Wink
