Its good that Corrie covered the smoking ban in tonights episode but they went a bit OTT didnt they? Would all those people really go out for a fag in the backyard of the Rovers? In Wales the ban has been in force since April and everyone just goes outside the front of the pubs.

And the announcer at the end "the ban came into force in the UK today" - its came into force in Wales three months ago love. As usual Wales get forgotten about Rolling Eyes

[/rant]

Not a case of Wales being forgotten about, just a case of geographic ignorance. It came into force only in England yesterday. Wales, Scotland and NI already have the ban in place, and have done for a few months!

I thought they covered the smoking humorously, but why would punters go in the back yard as you pointed out? Is smoking in the street beneath them Laughing

I liked Sean's line: "I don't stereotype gays". Either he has a keen sense of irony breaking the fourth wall, or the scriptwriters are taking the p*ss!

I like the light-hearted way Roy/Chesney's carbon-neutral storyline is being played out; if it were EE, it would be hand wringing doom and gloom no doubt Wink

I'm finding the Sean and Violet storyline slightly disturbing for some reason and I don't know why.

might it be the fact that Sean slagged off sunny for being bisexual and said there was no such thing Confused

because unless he's using the patented brookside turkey baster he's going to have to sleep with Violet

It was contrived and not in the least bit funny. Tonight's episode was funny.

Opinion.

Im not being funny but maybe you should stick to watching Eastenders then if you arent happy with Corrie. You are a fan of that arent you as were you the opening poster in the old EE thread?

That's what I thought. Surely customers would have gone outside the front door to smoke.

That what they do here in Wales - we have 2 pubs around the corner from where I work and every lunchtime there is always people outside smoking. Personally I think smoking should be banned on the steps of pubs as well as it looks so untidy IMO.

I know they have - I live in Wales dont forget Wink What annoyed me was they didnt bother to do another announcement for ITV Wales viewers saying "the smoking ban has been in force for 3 months here in Wales, if you would like further information about the issues raised in tonight show etc etc"

So are hideously fat people but no one asks for a ban because of their aesthetic.

You shoud realise the ban was applied for health reasons. How it looks has nothing to do with anyone else.

The desire to have children doesn't stop because you happen to be gay - and it doesn't mean Sean has to sleep with her - or make him bisexual if he does - I can't say I'd wholly approve (I hope they will go down an official donation / IVF type route), but sleeping with her would be a means to an end in this case, surely?

What if it were Violet and Jamie - would you be disturbed then?
