with reference to the spoiler

would a young man who feels like a woman so much he wants a sex change actually sleep with a woman?

Haley said she wanted to be a woman since she (he?) was 14 so I find it implausable that he slept with anybody

Maybe she/he did it to try and conform to what society thinks is normal. It could have been a one-off.

Anyway, more juicy gossip - Digital Spy's resident soap expert has said that Todd (Bruno Langley) could be returning for Sarah and Jason's wedding later in the year but that Corrie have said they are 'checking dates'. Apparently Sharon Marshall mentioned it on This Morning as well. Nothing has been confirmed and it's all up in the air at the moment, but even if it were briefly it would be great to have him back.

I disagree - I couldnt stand him.

I thought Todd was ok, well until the bizzare, I've been unsure about my sexuality but the first the viewers knew about it was when he 'kissed' Nick "What was that?" Laughing

Thats exactly why I disliked him,he cheated on Sarah which made gay people look bad yet again on a soap. Its the same with John Paul in Hollyoaks - cheating on his boyfriend with Craig. Rolling Eyes

I wasnt much keen on him before that, he was always a bit of a boring, wet and irritating character.

I find the stereotypical tv portrayal of homosexuals offensive and I'm not even homosexual ,so it must really annoy those who are.

anyway back to tonights episodes, looks like casey is finally revealed thanks to josh and his camera
(like the way he was picking up the photos at the end, very cute)

wonder what branch of Jessops they filmed it in, I want to develop my photos there if you get them for free Wink

It seemed a bit contrived the way Todd suddenly "turned" over a couple of months Laughing

I agree with you that gay men are always portrayed as fickle, even the seemingly anodyne Sean had to pinch Michelle's bloke Rolling Eyes

This is not to say there aren't gay men who cheat, and gay men are whiter-than-white; but a gay character on a soap who can maintain a monogamous relationship wouldn't go amiss.

Looked like a Max Spielmann shop to me.

Of course there are gay men that cheat, but some of them seem to think because they are confused about their sexuality its acceptable to cheat on their girlfriends with another man. Todd seemed to be like this and I didnt like the character as a result, not that I really liked him in the first place.

Good first episode tonight!

At least he came across as being a bit intelligent, unlike Kirk, Ty, Jason...
He could be like him off EastEnders and have a decent job in Manchester

I get your point - I never thought that storyline was handled well anyway but I did like the character - he was complex, and as Andrew said, he was intelligent which is refreshing when you think about the prominent male characters we have now. Apart from David who is the most articulate teenager in soap, we have dopey Kirk and dense Jason.

I also think he could give Corrie a bit of boost. Right now I'm just bored with the show. The sooner Steve Frost moves on the better - IMO he's not been great for the show at all. When I think about how great it was under Carolyn Reynolds and Tony Wood (lucky Hollyoaks), it makes me weep.

Is there any adult character in a soap who hasn't cheated on someone, gay or otherwise?

And I agree that Corrie is a bit flat at the moment. I so can't be bothered with Kirk and Fiz's love life and that awful, awful simperingly wet teacher, John, with his stereotyped side-parting and glasses.

The Mortons are... hmmph... meh... the Mortons.

Even Ashley and Claire's storyline is getting a bit tedious now, although Joshua picking up the photos that Claire threw on the ground made me laugh. Incidentally, has Matt Ramsden stopped bothering with his access sessions with Joshua?

Eileen's love life provides a little entertainment, but Sean Hughes already seems like another Craig Charles, who just plays himself. I'm sure I'll only ever be able to think of as Sean Hughes - although early days and all that.

Only the ongoing repurcussions of Paul Connor's death are keeping me particularlyinterested.

Maybe we're into the summer lull already.

Its a shame to hear that such loyal fans are not enjoying it. Im loving it at the moment - I even enjoyed the Mortens last night, although the female twin is reminding me more and more of Katy Harris by the episode (not nearly as annoying as Katy was though yet!)

Im very surprised to hear that people cant wait for Steve Frost to leave. I think he has made Corrie great viewing again and has done a superb job. I just cant praise his efforts as producer enough. Tony Wood was ok and his first year (2004) was excellent apart from the Todd storyline but im not going to get into that again. But are we forgetting that his final year on Corrie (2005) was the worst this decade so far particularly the Summer of 2005. Steve Frost taking over as producer saved Corrie from going down the pan and I really hope he isnt going anywhere for a good while as he is doing an excellent job.

Aaaaaw yes but we've got Blanche's wake to look foward to next week! "Nothing too emotional mind". Maybe will get to see more of the One O'Clock club... it is rumoured that
Keith Barron will join Coro as member of the yet unseen One O'Clock luncheon club, perhaps as a romance interest to Blanche Laughing It could be the next book club!

Also a interesting storyline developing next week:
Sean and Violet have a heart-to-heart and decide to parent a child together! I don't know if they will use a turkey-baster or not? Wink
