Jack and Vera only had 1 son, Terry.

They have 3 grandchildren - Paul Clayton, Tommy Duckworth and Brad Armstrong.

Im glad that the Duckworths grandson is joining Corrie, should provide some great storylines for them!

I reckon so too Jez, and non of them happy ones for Jack and Vera no doubt!

Spoiler for 15th June / and a question

So they're all Terry's then. Can you give any background on their grandchildren - the only one I know is the one they go and see in Blackpool.

We haven't seen Terry for a bit so I wonder if he'll appear soon?


Also, I wonder if they'd have changed Paul's name if Paul hadn't been leaving.

From what I remember;

Paul Clayton - Terry started going out with Andrea Clayton, the oldest daughter of the new family who moved into the house next door to the Duckworths in 1985. Andrea was studying for her A Levels and her father didnt approve of her dating Terry. She got pregnant, and from what I remember from Plus repeats Terry offered to do the right thing and stand by her (Terry wasnt such a bad lad in those days!) but the family left the show after about 9 months on screen (I dont think they were that well received by the viewers). It was mentioned in 1986 that Andrea had given birth to a son Paul but this wasnt shown on screen. He wasnt seen on screen until 2000 when Andrea came looking for the Duckworths as Paul needed a kidney transplant. Terry was persuaded to donate a kidney but only if he was paid a sum of money. Jack and Vera paid him but he did a runner at the last minute which meant Vera had to donate the kidney and almost died (this was the live episode in 2000).

Tommy Duckworth - Terry's girlfriend Lisa got pregnant however Terry was arrested and sent to prison (think it was for GBH), however they got married but Terry used the wedding as an excuse to escape from prison when Vera insisted the handcuffs be removed. Lisa had the baby but shortly afterwards she was knocked down and killed so Jack anc Vera brought up baby Tommy. When Terry was released he sold Tommy to his other grandparents in Blackpool and this was when Jack told Terry he was no longer his son. The Duckworths still visited Tommy often in Blackpool after this but they havent mentioned him much recently.

Brad Armstrong - Terry slept with Tricia Armstrong and she got pregnant. She was a barmaid/cleaner at the Rovers (at this time the Duckworths were running it) She gave birth to Brad in the back room of the Rovers. She got together with a new fella and moved away and thats all we heard from her I think.

Thanks Jez - Tommy is the only one I recall, though I vaguely remember the kidney story.

I doubt it! Although they did remember Tracy had a kidney transplant recently.

I wondered that too, has there ever been two regular characters in a soap with the same name?

There have - Jacqui (Dixon) and Jackie (Corkhill) in Brookside. I think there has been in Hollyoaks too a few years back - can't recall who though.

There were 2 Jacqui's in Brookside but I think the spelt their names differently.
