Freddie suddenly was found in a local park, although it feels as if his return has been crobared into th show, they will probs make a big storyline now of why it happened and probably move the stairs back lol.

Im glad that Freddie was found sooner rather than later. I think its much better when storylines dont go on for months and months, anyone agree?

yes its better when storylines are resolved quickly, the emmerdale storyline on tom king put me off watching Emmerdale. Although i think it's a shame that this wasnt spread out over a few more episodes?

Be interesting to see what they do to fill the time that this storyline would have taken up over the coming weeks.

Well, I don't! There is always the fine balance I suppose of being realistic and dragging things out for months - Tom King for example seemed to go on too long (though I don't even watch Emmerdale), but in reality things like that do take months, not weeks to sort out!

I think dragging out the abduction storyline for four months would probably have been too long, but it would be a brilliant storyline over a month or so.

I still think it was a mistake too change the storyline in the way they did - tonight's episode suffered as a result and frankly, watching Coronation Street probably isn't at the top of Madelines families priorities!

If they could film new scenes with in a week, is it not possible to do filming of episodes two weeks in advance, or is that taking the biscuit?

After reading the spoilers a few weeks back it did seem it was going to be a good storyline, with the searching for Freddie, doing an appeal etc. I personally don't feel they should have changed it - but i guess we will have to live with it now.

It has to be a balance between the two and about how dominant a story is (for example the Tom King storyline went into the background for many weeks, it wasn't as if it was the only thing going on all this time)

Far too often in soaps you have a character suffering major tragedy and then a week later are back laughing in the pub and chatting to someone who caused the tragedy!

Obviously today's example is different, but I don't honestly think that the average viewer will have noticed the join

No of course it isnt but they changed it out of respect for what has happened, regardless of whether they would be watching it or not they made the right decision.

I thought tonights episodes were excellent. Storylines dont always need to be dragged out for weeks to be excellent, and I expect there is still mileage left in this storyline as we discover why someone kidnapped the baby and set fire to the house.

Do you think they might change the identity of the person who took Freddie?

This Maddie thing is driving me nuts.

I can't help. I live in the South. I have never been to Portugal. I can not "Help Maddie"! I swear if I get one more junk email containing her photograph I will go mad - how is it going to help the police search in another country? People go missing every day. Don't get me wrong, it's tragic, and horrible, and a dreadful thing, and I hope from the bottom of my heart she is returned safely, but this mass outpouring of sympathy is getting a little tiresome, and the more the sorry story is shoved down my throat the less I care. Everywhere I go I see her poor little face and big eyes, it's horrible but it's also unnecessary!

Personally I don't think the plot should have been dropped. Just my view anyway, but I doubt Maddie's parents care about a soap opera plot at a time when their daughter is missing.

Apparantly it'll turn out Freddie abseiled down the drainpipe and crawled to Victoria Gardens. The fire was due to one of his toys spontaneously teddy combusing

Could it be a return of
Demon David?
although not likely. he was making coments about claire threatening to set fire to the shed. Not sure he has it in him though to stoop that low?
