Thanks for that clip - ive not seen it before. I do remember in 1994 though they did a tribute programme when Doris Speed died at the age of 95.
Is it just me who thinks the Steve and Michelle stuff tonight was boring? Steve is such a prat. Sean is irritating too - Violet could do so much better than him for a best friend. I take it Sean and Michelle havent made up then as they never have scenes together these days?
Otherwise the episodes were good. I liked the Duckworths and the baby intercom thing, although it was slightly predictable that Vera would overhear Molly and Tyrone's conversation in the Rovers.
Almost felt like hugging Blanche myself, when she returned from "Ulvaston" (a town in Cumbria Deirdre!). "It's Ilkeston I'll have you know"!! Pronounced "illson" actually Blanche, as Bill Roache will tell you
It's Ulverston, actually, as anybody in Cumbria will tell you
Indeed it is chief I should have checked my atlas first

Sean I don't mind, I think he could only get away with a sardonically camp line like the "etopic pregnancy is not a good conversation opener". Violet is still chronically
under-used
Coro writers!!!.
Nice to see Jack and Vera as you say, shame about the "venus fly trap's" health in real life. I can see they are molding Molly and Tyrone to be their successors (possibly Fiz and Tyrone too)
I wouldn't seem right for Tracey-luv to properly cry-- crocodile tears suit her much better
The Steve and Michelle awkwardness routine was endearing at first, but I agree it's starting to get dull now. Either get together or stay platonic-- quit the messing around
Cilla is OK when given the right script, otherwise she just comes across as a shrieking harridan Jerry 'Sinbad' Morton I can stick, but I don't care much for his 'litter'
Anyway, a good episode... Kym Ryder can really act can't she!
Yes she can act. It's surprised me. I guess she's spent a fair bit of time taking acting lessons since her hearsay days. A good start to her acting career and she can only get better as time goes on. She is working with some of the best and i've no doubt she will absorb every bit of advice she's given to perfect her art like a sponge.
Poor Blanche in Corrie tonight, stuck in the crossfire between Ken & Deirdrie.
I always enjoy the Ken / Deirdrie relationship problems, we've had plenty of them down the years. They are such strong characters it always makes for good viewing.
