Nice to see that scene with Hilda and Bet. Just found this short clip on Youtube:

Thanks for that clip - ive not seen it before. I do remember in 1994 though they did a tribute programme when Doris Speed died at the age of 95.

Is it just me who thinks the Steve and Michelle stuff tonight was boring? Steve is such a prat. Sean is irritating too - Violet could do so much better than him for a best friend. I take it Sean and Michelle havent made up then as they never have scenes together these days?

Otherwise the episodes were good. I liked the Duckworths and the baby intercom thing, although it was slightly predictable that Vera would overhear Molly and Tyrone's conversation in the Rovers.

Laughing Almost felt like hugging Blanche myself, when she returned from "Ulvaston" (a town in Cumbria Deirdre!). "It's Ilkeston I'll have you know"!! Pronounced "illson" actually Blanche, as Bill Roache will tell you Wink

It's Ulverston, actually, as anybody in Cumbria will tell you Wink

Indeed it is chief Embarassed I should have checked my atlas first Laughing

Sean I don't mind, I think he could only get away with a sardonically camp line like the "etopic pregnancy is not a good conversation opener". Violet is still chronically under-used Coro writers!!!.

Nice to see Jack and Vera as you say, shame about the "venus fly trap's" health in real life. I can see they are molding Molly and Tyrone to be their successors (possibly Fiz and Tyrone too)

I wouldn't seem right for Tracey-luv to properly cry-- crocodile tears suit her much better Laughing

The Steve and Michelle awkwardness routine was endearing at first, but I agree it's starting to get dull now. Either get together or stay platonic-- quit the messing around Laughing

Cilla is OK when given the right script, otherwise she just comes across as a shrieking harridan Laughing Jerry 'Sinbad' Morton I can stick, but I don't care much for his 'litter' Rolling Eyes

Surely it must come to a point in the next few years where Liz Dawn will have to leave for the sake of her health(Hopefully not just yet!)?

Don't she & Bill Tarmey have a pact where they'd leave together?

I think thats likely to be the case. Knowing the Duckworths, they'll probably win the lottery and move to Spain.

are we meant to believe that a baby monitor will work through the five party walls of six buildings Rolling Eyes

|Rovers|Barlows|Emilys|Battersbys|Jamies|Duckworths|

if that was the case Holly's baby monitor would have picked up baby Freddie crying

and how did Vera hear Molly and Tyrone if she'd unpluged the unit to get some peace?

She said that she had plugged the unit back in again later.

Anyway, a good episode... Kym Ryder can really act can't she!

Yes she can act. It's surprised me. I guess she's spent a fair bit of time taking acting lessons since her hearsay days. A good start to her acting career and she can only get better as time goes on. She is working with some of the best and i've no doubt she will absorb every bit of advice she's given to perfect her art like a sponge.

They work a bit like a walkie talkie and portable phone. It has a certain metre radius. I think on this occassion they said it had a 90 metre radius.

Poor Blanche in Corrie tonight, stuck in the crossfire between Ken & Deirdrie.

I always enjoy the Ken / Deirdrie relationship problems, we've had plenty of them down the years. They are such strong characters it always makes for good viewing.
