He still has be selected to be the official Tory candidate for Chester, plus the next election is projected to be a couple of years away at least-- so plenty of time for acting projects in the meantime.
I think his appearance in Shortland Street was only for an episode or two. I actually didn't think he looked that thin, bearing in mind he is naturally ectomorphic. Besides the pictures weren't of him shirtless, so we couldn't see if the infamous six pack had disappeared... although he revealed a short while ago he had a bullimia in his youth.
I can't warm to the new family. Jerry (sorry Sinbad) is OK, but why do we need six kids? I can't see them all of them being of any use!
Adam Rickett never did nowt for me at all even in the days of his 6 pack -totally not my type. And he couldnt act either.
I havent warmed to the new family much either but I guess Jerry is the best out of them. I want to see more of Carla, she is quite underused really. If they dont give her some decent storylines im worried Ali King will quit like Sean Gallagher did.

As for the Sinbad family, I'm not sure as yet. It's always difficult with new characters and families as they take a while to bed in. Maybe given time we'll grow to like them.

When did Sinbad actually leave Brookside? Probably going to sound weird - but would it have been a soap first if they kept him as Sinbad, but he had just moved into the Steet after leaving his wife?

I'd given up on Brookside well before it finished, but I've got a feeling he wasn't there at the very end (might be wrong tho).
I'd also thought it might have been interesting to have kept him as Sinbad. Not sure how they'd explain his large family - but then if they can move Ashley and Claire's stairs with no explanation...
Incidentally, if they had done this, it wouldn't have been a first. One of the Musgrove lads from Brookside moved to Hollyoaks as the same character. Also in Brookie, at Jacquie Dixon's wedding, there was a cameo from 'Cousin Jill' who supposedly ran a hotel in the Midlands... played by Jane Rossington, aka Jill from Crossroads.

It was Luke who rapped Nikki not Matt (I'm talking Brookside here, not Bros ) Matt Mussgrove migrated to Hollyoaks.
Sinbad left Brookside around 2000 after being accused of child abuse by the jealous son of a girl friend. The accusation was false but he was so upset that all the neighbours didn't believe him that he left. This was due to Michael Starke wanting to leave.
In fact the original script was for Sinbad to be found guilty and sent to jail but Michael was so upset at how the scriptwriters could treat his character after 16 years that he made them change the script.
(well that's what he said in a This Morning interview when he left)
I noticed Chesney's voice as well, guess he's at that voice dropping age. Apparently he's going to be the 'teenager from hell'
