The Grandad character is interesting how he has totally disappeared (He'll be on on Wednesday now I've said that!)

They are also much more milder than the press made out, nothing like the Battersbys

We need a new family to stay really as there is often a last in first out situation on Corrie. The Nelson/Harris's left, the Ramsdens did etc, meanwhile old favourites like the Platts and the Websters stay forever

With Sarah Platt leaving - and I presume Bethany - only Gail and David will be left - hardly a family really is it?

The Mortons are pretty rubbish but it is very hard to write a decent new family into a soap, I suppose. It could be a problem with the casting, the characters, the writing or all of those things.

I guess one way they could sort that is if David got a girlfriend and she moved into the house?

Or they could bring back Nick(y) with another new head.

Incidentally, can anyone confirm what I read in the papers last week that Adam Rickitt now has a part in Shortland Street? I thought he was dead set on becoming a Tory MP.

That is true. There were pictures of him jogging in the paper and he looked very rough - stick thin, gaunt - a world away from his six-pack days. Was quite sad really.

I think that was the same article I saw. So is he no longer on the Conservative's 'A-List' of potential parliamentary candidates?

Does anyone know if the Morton Mum will be joining Corrie as a regular - from what i've seen its a no no, but it may give Jerry someone to communicate with other than his kids, as i just cant see Jerry and Gail getting it on Shocked

He seems to be suffering from lipodistrophy - the tell-tale sign is the sunken cheeks.

A terrible shame. Despite his political allegiance he's scrum-diddly-umptiuous.

OMG has anyone seen the pictures of Liam in next weeks tv guides! I nearly choked on my lunch when I opened my Whats on TV. He gets his kit off (about flaming time too!, that chest is too nice to be covered up)

and he sleeps with Lianne (lucky Lianne!)

Thought id better spoiler tag the last bit even though we have seen this coming a mile off.

The fact that he doesnt appear makes me think the exact opposite!

Actually I think they are quite like the Battersbys - playing loud music, annoying the neighbours, kids getting caught stealing from local shop etc.

I didnt like the Ramsdens, the Harris family were ok but I hated Katy. I like the Connors.

He still has be selected to be the official Tory candidate for Chester, plus the next election is projected to be a couple of years away at least-- so plenty of time for acting projects in the meantime.

I think his appearance in Shortland Street was only for an episode or two. I actually didn't think he looked that thin, bearing in mind he is naturally ectomorphic. Besides the pictures weren't of him shirtless, so we couldn't see if the infamous six pack had disappeared... although he revealed a short while ago he had a bullimia in his youth. Even so he wasn't hardly skin and bones; I'm thinner than that, and I haven't got a eating disorder (other than a very healthy appetite)!

I can't warm to the new family. Jerry (sorry Sinbad) is OK, but why do we need six kids? I can't see them all of them being of any use!

They'll probably wittle them down to the best 2-3 and the other 3-4 will be shipped off elsewhere
