I wonder how Les will be written out, he could just go into that black hole, if it exists in Corrie?

Don't be too hard on him Granada. Yes, you should never humiliate your colleagues in public but I think the most upset Bruce has caused is to the PC thought police.

Bruce brings so much of himself into Les and that's what makes him a great part of the show. And unlike a certain Mr Charles, he hasn't committed a criminal act.

I'm not the one who has a tally on how many soaps get on tv covers? I just made a post about Les,Infact it was just a link to a story.

With you having such a big interest in Corrie shouldn't you be watching it? Rather then being on the pc?

Oh shut up and get out of this thread.

You take massive offense at a non EastEnders fan venturing into your thread, so stop being a hypocrite and sod off.

Anyway, good episode tonight. Interesting how they brought up Claire's depression into the story.

I agree. I'm not sure if that was originally planned but it's been very cleverly written, the way previous events have brought back up and used again. It's been a very good week so far, writing-wise.

Totally agree, I found myself chuckling at some court scenes.

Just read this on Corrieblog.tv - please someone tell me it's not true?

Jeff Hordley, who played Emmerdale’s bad boy Cain Dingle, is set to join Coronation Street, says The People. He’ll be arriving on the cobbles to play a womanising heart-throb and told the paper: “This time there is a good side to my character. I think fans of Cain might just be surprised.”

Digital Spy's Soaps Editor says it isn't true.

Coincidentally, his wife plays Claire's new "friend" Casey, and he says that 'there's a HUGE storyline coming up over the next few months involving Claire which I'm really excited about. Watch this space.'

Can't wait. Very Happy

If Les was to leave permanently i wouldn't miss him. It would make it more interesting if Chesney was to live with Fizz. Les is just there, his character has run it's course not sure they can do much more with him. Except for when he finds out about Leannes line of work of course.

Oh and since when has Leanne been the nearest thing to a daughter Janice has ( a previous episode) has Janice forgotten about Toyah?

Can't wait for tonights corrie. I'm loving Tracys trial.

Edit.. No Corrie tonight Crying or Very sad . Sorry my days are all messed up, i've been soo busy. I thought it was Friday today.

Wishful thinking! Wink

Good point about "oer Toy-yurrr", I was thinking the same myself!

I also agree with you about Les, to me he has just become a parody of himself. I think when Cilla leaves, it would be a good chance to get rid of him-- he could run off with Yana perhaps.

I think Kirk and Fiz looking after Chesney has great comic potential, and would work well.

Speaking of Cilla:
Bruce Jones said that Cilla would be killed off in August. I think what the obvious conclusion from that, is that her cancer will return and nobody will believe her after she lied last time!!

In a recent interview Wendi Peters said she 'hoped' she wouldn't be killed off which would suggest that she doesn't know how Cilla leaves. Now if she doesn't know, I'm sure Bruce doesn't either.

I do agree though that Les should leave with Cilla. They really have done everything that they can do with the character now. I've never liked him much but now he's just unbearable.

Talking of Toyah, it would be nice to see her return, even just for a few episodes. She was always my favourite Battersby.

How recent was that interview? Producers might have made a decision between then and Bruce Jones's outbursts.

Besides I am sceptical when actors say they "don't know" about these things; they have probably just been ordered not to give "secrets" away, as BJ was alleged to have done during his anctics.

I appreciate that Wendi Peters's departure is a while off, so she may not know. However it seems to be definite that Paul Connor is to be killed off next summer, so I would imagine that WP knows how Cilla is going to be written out by now. I would have thought my above suggestion would be the most likely way she leaves.

Perhaps she knows how she is to be written out, but would prefer not to be killed, hence her comments.

Ultimately though the "girl who cried wolf" story may be the best purely in terms of drama.

I agree - it would be an interesting storyline and would certainly give Wendi a chance to get her teeth into something. She's proved herself to be good at the more serious storylines in the past but this has been all too brief, and the producers seem reluctant to allow her to do anything other than comedy.
