Little rant here, when oh when will ITV ditch the god awful generic credits!

Not just from Corrie but on dramas the "Previously" and "Next Time" bits epitomise tackiness and strip shows of individuality. REMOVE THEM.

Another one of life's unanswered questions is why on earth Emmerdale seems to be allowed their own end credits yet Coronation Street isn't.

Completly agree - the last style wasn't too bad but these striped ones have always been awful. It wouldn't be difficult to use the cobbles or something as a background.

Anyhow, according to This Morning there is going to be a massive fire at the Peacocks - which seems a bit stupid after refurbishing it so it's unrecognisable!

At an educated guess, I would presume the person Claire has befriended on this telephone support line might have something to do with it.

In the past few years we've had Tyrone's girlfriend (Maz?) growing cannabis and it ending up in the cake being eaten by Rita, Emily, etc..

That was fab, you can watch that scene again here :

I agree we need some decent end credits.

I think its something to do with programmes made by Yorkshire TV as dont Heartbeat and The Royal have proper end credits as well.

I think a fire at the peacocks would be a bit daft as well after compleatly rearaining the internal layout..quite why they didn't design it like it is now back in 1990 heaven knows.

we just had a fire in the cafe, is there an arsonist on the scriptwriting team at the moment.?

I think a fire there would be stupid too - they only just had the bomb thing. Brookside disease.

In the Radio Times for next week, the letters page has a letter from someone asking about the Peacock's stairs - and the RT quotes a spokesperson for the show to say it's just the angle the set is shot at that has changed. Rubbish! If I could be bothered I'd write in and correct them!

As for Steve Frost's tenure, yes he's improved the show from that awful summer in 2005, but it's still a bit patchy - but then there's lots of episodes to fill... Too much focus on certain characters, still too much deadwood, some poor new characters too. I like Liam and Michelle , but Paul and his wife are too Emmerdale for me.

And we all know what happened to Brookside.

The show does seem a lot gritty recently with murders, fires and upcoming storylines with drugs and prostitution.

Alot of the problems of the last year have probably been a result of decisions made previously - but he's also made bad decisions himself, such as bringing back Janice who was long overdue the axe.

I've hardly watched the show much at all this year - the storylines are just not must see at the moment for me. I think once they get the trial out of the way it might pick up again, and I do like the Conners - though it's a shame once is leaving so soon - and in a box too (I think in this case recasting might have been a better option).

I do think though the older characters have been better integrated in recent months though and are no longer just waiting to die. I guess now though we've got the opposite problem of some of the younger characters (well, Adam Barlow) being the deadwood.

And I know we all agree about Vernon!

Well I can't see Adam lasting much longer. In fact I read that he leaves with Peter.

I think the cast seriously needs to be scaled down though.
