Well I'm enjoying it now more than I did during 2005, but I still think a lot of work needs to be done. The Connors remind me too much of Emmerdale's King family (excluding the fantastic Michelle) with all these secrets and murder and the like. There are far too many characters still and whilst he has got rid of a few characters I think he could have afforded to be a bit more ruthless.
But yes, like I said it's in a better state than it was in 2005, but not quite as good as last year and way off being off that high quality that we saw in 2003 and 2004.

So what does everyone think about Steve Frost's tenure at Corrie so far? He's been the boss for a year now, with his first episode being the one in which Ed confessed his dark secret to Emily (great episode, that).
Since then, the Connors have arrived, he's axed Diggory, Ronnie and other deadwood characters and masterminded the Cilla cancer plot, the death of Charlie Stubbs and David Platt's increasing... well, evilness.
But has he done enough? What do you think to Steve Frost's work?

Excellent. I have nothing but praise for Steve's work. Corrie went through a bad period during Summer 2005 and Steve Frost has managed to make the programme great viewing again. I cringe when I think of some of the bad episodes we had during 2005 like Cilla and Les's wedding and Scooter and the fish (what the hell was that?)
He has axed some of the worst characters and brought in some fantastic new characters like the Connors. He has given some the older characters like Reet and Emily more storylines than they had before. To be honest there hasnt been an episode ive really disliked for ages.

Well Done Corrie, much deserved. All they need to do is win the Bafta in May (or whenever it is) and i'll be happy.
I agree. Well done Corrie for that well deserved RTS award. Hopefully the BAFTA will follow to round it off.

It's quite amusing the way the papers are reporting this like it's a big controversy. It's not like it's the first time Corrie's ever done anything like this. In the past few years we've had Tyrone's girlfriend (Maz?) growing cannabis and it ending up in the cake being eaten by Rita, Emily, etc.. Plus there was that girl growing it in what was Sarah and Todd's flat, with David going to water it.

So Coronation Street are bracing themselves for another drugs scandal - only this time it's not real as Vernon and the new Morton kid smoke some pot!

Never mind Rob Collier, I got a reply to my letter to Sean Gallagher today which I wrote after he announced he was qutting the show. I said it was a shame he was leaving so soon and that I hoped he would be sucessful in getting other acting jobs. He wrote on the back of his photo card "Thanks for your letter Jez, all the best, Sean Gallagher" which I thought was very nice of him.
Ive actually never written to Rob Collier.
